I just checked my Reanimation booklet and there is written "[12] NTR/MSSION [...] Violin and cello by Phoenix // Recorded at The Stockroom". Same with Opening and KRWLNG.
Absolutely! It's not like it would magically make their music better btw... Hey, for example, NIN going indie didn't change anything for me. Trent Reznor might have been arguing that he felt more free and all at the time, but still, all the classic NIN records were recorded when they were signed and "The Slip" wasn't really outstanding imo.
Didn't NIN sign back with Interscope again? I read an article where it says a new album is planned for release through Interscope in 2014.

I'm not necessarily excited for Linkin Park to leave Warner Bros. (although I always love when artists decide to do it themselves) so much as I'm excited for the band to have more opportunity. When Linkin Park signed with Warner, it was after a ton of rejections. They had the one deal offered to them because they knew a guy (Jeff Blue I believe), and that was what they had to take. When that deal comes to an end, seeing as they are one of the biggest bands of the last 10-15 years, I'm sure they will get many offers. They'll have a lot to pick and choose from in terms of creative freedom, promotion, control of their content, and all sorts of good stuff I couldn't even begin to fully comprehend. It could be Warner again with a new deal, a different label, or independent. Point is, they'll likely be able to get themselves a great deal with lots of options. And that's the best thing.
