BTH was picked because it has a good chance of exploding ala In The End. It's a very good song and if it can make people see Linkin Park than as more than just a "nu-metal band" then I say go for it. But... .....I still would have rather seen Don't Stay as the single since it's my favorite Meteora track.
If Warner Bros released it against LP's wishes then no (which is unlikely). If LP decided to release it because they want to, then I'll be okay with it, not really happy though. I can't really justify what I mean, but I feel as if BTH is a personal song both to LP and fans and I won't like it being thrust into the overplayed limelight and ignorant new LP fans liking the song just for the tune, not what the lyrics really mean. It might be like "In The End"- the song was really good, but then it was overplayed to death and people sung along to it to make them "look cool" and they didn't look past the "cool factor" which was annoying because they didn't really accept the song for truly what it is.
One the one hand yes, because this is my favorite song, but on the other hand it's too personal.Poor Mike.
Another reason is because of the meaning of the song. To my (and mostly every LP fan) the song is about a person's thoughts and actions before committing suicide- and the media might blow it up to something negative- believe me! And then they'll put headlines such as "Linkin Park encouraging suicide" and then parents might think wrongly of Linkin Park...
I think BTH is a beautiful song that really shows the musical range of LP. I would be happy no matter what song they released. However, since Mike never wanted BTH to be released, I think the wishes of the band should have been respected.
I am totally against BTH being released. I can't help but think that this will be the song that attracts all the teenies... in other words, my worst nightmare.
Don't worry about that. LPA will bring out the full artillery if that ever happens to LPA. We never tolerated teenies before, and we wont tolerate them now.

yup. they got him. [/b][/quote] It's good to know there's at least one place where I'll be sheltered from the teenie madness. And yay! We got Hussein!
I think it's a good choice for a single. I'm sure it's a lot different when your in a band and when your a fan. Right now, I think they want to try and put out another In The End. It's not that they want more money or anything, it's that they want Meteora to be a break-through record. As of right now, Meteora hasn't come close to amazing people like Hybrid Theory did. The only real way for them to do that is to put out an single that is different from what they usually do. If you think about it, the only songs that are different are BTH and Nobody's Listenning. We'll, that's what I think anyways. Haha. That made me laugh.
i love BTH.. it's one of their best songs on Meteora.. but I don't know.. too personal.. but I think they'll make a pretty kewl film clip..
im totally looking forward to BTH, i just cannot wait to see what LP thinks of for this video. oh the possibilities
no really, don't stay is better. but as far as i noe all linkin park video is very kewl. i hope HTB is also
im extatic that they decided to release it, i personaly can not wait to see the video, and hear the critics view on lp after they release it
i am ecstatic that bth is the next single, as it is currently my favorite song on the album. but, i can also relate to bigjae in the fact that it is too personal to be widespread to just anyone. it almost seems like it should be exclusive lol. it would beyond suck if bth became one of those songs that preppy frat boys sing and stuff. but, i am really looking forward to the video. :chaz:
