Julien-K talk about the future of Dead By Sunrise (Watch the video from 11:25): Any thoughts?
Though I'm not a big fan of DBS the way he described the sound of the next album has me interested. "more raw and emotional as it was intended with the first, less produced, more on their own, he said it will be better than the first and people will see a new side of Chester that’s going to be incredible" I seriously doubt that they've actually started anything though so I don't see anything coming of this until at least late 2014.
Actually sounds pretty exciting. Hopefully, the songwriting is a big step up from the first Dead By Sunrise album
More raw = yes! First record was way too overproduced at moments, and songs like My Suffering or Let Down would have been 100000x better without all those layers/effects on vocals/...at least I think so. More emotional = meh. By definition, all music has emotions (sadness, joy, anger, anything). If it doesn't, then it would be more noise than music I think. So basically, I guess they mean a more mellow record.... I don't know how to feel about this, since the first record was already pretty mellow, but we'll see. But anyway, excited to see there will at least be a second record Even if I don't see it coming soon, ahha
Ah nice! Thats a great interview. epic news! More Raw! Thats exactly what I was hoping for DBS 2. As that was really the only flaw in Out of Ashes was that it seemed to over produced. I really hope they get to start on it soon. Before LP6 would be brilliant, but it depends how soon the rest of the band want to start recording new music again.
I think this is gonna push back the next LP album, which I'm not happy about... Another LP album > Another DBS album...
I think we're gonna wait three years anyway, and with Chester working on 2 projects, even more... Plus, I think with Chester working on DBS, I think Mike could start another FM album... (But I'd like that...)
If Mike really records another FM record, it's just not going to be the same. He's a lot older now. So the "we're so into this shit" (which I think is very easily heard in The Rising Tied) element wouldn't be present anymore. But kinda got off-topic here. What are these two projects you're talking about?
I think that's the best part. Shinoda's evolved so, so much as an artist since "The Rising Tied" and Linkin Park have broadened their influences to the point where Shinoda can do whatever he wants within the confines of the band's work; the only reason he'd need to make a Fort Minor album is so he can collaborate with other artists I'm not sure I want to hear another album full of Shinoda's rapping, though. I feel we get just enough of it on Linkin Park albums Meanwhile, Dead By Sunrise also needs to sound different because some of the songs on "Living Things" already sounds fairly Dead By Sunrise-esque, as both fans and detractors of the album are always eager to point out.
Well, LP's sixth album and DBS's second album. I don't know if I think that the next FM album would be the best or the worst thing ever... His rapping on stuff like W&K and WTCFM is just perfect, yet on LT it's really not that good. Rapping in LITE, BID is just... bad.
Yeah ... but, on the other hand, his verses on "Victimized" and "Until It Breaks" are pretty great, in my opinion. So "Living Things" is kind of a mixed bag in terms of rapping; I guess there's something for everyone
I love the verse on Victimized, it's one of my favorites... But I feel like he could've done a better job on UIB. I love the beat, but the vocals seem a little forced or something...
I think the overall sound of The Rising Tied and We Major mixtape is pretty good... Anyway, back on topic: they haven't started doing anything yet?
