It seems that whenever Linkin Park decides to do covers (like Rolling in the Deep and Sabotage) they totally rock it. It got me thinking, how cool would it be if they did cover albums, much like Dream Theater has done with Master of Puppets, The Number of the Beast, and The Dark Side of the Moon. If they did this, what classic rock and/or rap/hip-hop albums would you like to see them cover?

I wish they would have released a studio version of Wish.

I'm glad they never did a full cover of Sweet Child o' Mine. Brad is utterly shit at that part.

I used to wish they released a studio of Wish and My Own Summer back in the day. But now I think it's kind of cool that they only do live covers. I don't like when bands do a lot of covers, but live covers are always cool. Just sucks that we never got any HQ versions of My Own Summer.

Yeah but Chester was fucking epic, if only he would cover it with Camp Freddy.

I don't care what anyone says, Chester did very well singing SCOM. I like it way more than the original GNR version. I wish Camp Freddy would do it instead of Paradise City.

Chester really needs to record a cover album with Camp Freddy, I really think his performances with them are some of his best vocal performances.

^ Agreed. I love also that they only rarely perform covers so that it's always something special when they do.

I agree. Having listened to Linkin Park for so long now and having been a big fan that whole time, Chester's vocal performances on Linkin Park songs (and Dead By Sunrise songs too) don't have much of an impact on me anymore. :) It's when I hear him perform covers live, whether it's for Linkin Park or Camp Freddy or whatever, that I'm reminded how fucking amazing he is

I would seriously shit myself if LP ever decided to cover Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode. Whether in the studio, or live.

Might be pretty awesome to hear them do a cover of smooth criminal like alien ant farm did for Michael Jackson

Yeah, this comment says it all: "LP's cover bent this song over and buttfucked it..."

The moment Chester decided to go for a "darker" more grimy sort of vocal on Wish, he fucked it up. Should've stuck with the kind of vocal delivery he had at Rock Am Ring.

Although I don't know if I can truly agree with any of you about the NIN cover being great. It was GOOD, to an extent, but it doesn't hold a candle to NIN performing it live.

I disagree. They took Wish and made it distinctly Linkin Park style at the time. If it was delivered with any less ferocity it would be too much like the source material.

Wish was amazing.. I did like the Rock AM Ring performance, but he did it better on PR04. It was so heavy. No other vocalist can scream the way he was on Wish. Chester is amazing!!!

If they were to do a covers album I think it'd be better to be a mix of songs from different bands/artists rather than a single album from one band. Also the covers should preferably be from bands that actually influenced & inspired LP rather than current hits.

Ah now, Chester was great on Wish, but we both know that's not true.
