Should Linkin Park create a cd without the rap and the screaming?

I think the main idea is to get the main point of their music out. They don't have to scream and rap, it basically just sounds good. They can express their musical ideas without it. I would be equally as happy to listen to a non screaming and rapping CD. But I think that it would be a very good idea to use them because Mike and Chester have those talents and they should use them.

I think an album without rapping or screaming would be interesting...the guys are extremely talented musicians and there's no doubt in my mind that they could make a fabulous instrumental album...but I just don't think that's something they would ever do...

No offense, but LP are defined by their rock and rap qualities. If they didn't have rapping or screaming, they'd sound just like every other rock band out there. That wouldn't be original.

Definitely, you've got a point...as I said earlier, their vocals help define them as a band.

Yeah sure, why not take away everything that Linkin Park stands for? Stay with the core and what got them there in the first place.

True, true. They've found their niche, and probably won't stray too far from, and nor should they...

I looked for the option of 'hell no' but settled for no.

Without rapping and screaming its just pretty much the same sounding song over and over. If you dont want any rapping or screaming make a cd of their slow songs, because Linkin Park sure isn't going to release it as their next album.

You make it sound like without screaming there would be no Chester. There would be Chester because he also sings, remember? His main job isn't screaming, or else you could almost call him a "screamist" instead of a vocalist. I love Chester's singing the most, but my favorite song is Hit The Floor, which is mainly rapping and screaming. That just goes to show you how capable they are of doing anything. But basically, I wouldn't want any of it taken out. Not the rapping, screaming, or singing. Their variety in vocals is one of the things that set them apart from all the other rock bands out there. ^_^

Linkin Park are Linkin Park because they tend to compose their songs in that way. I think that if we take those elements away from their structure, then LP would not be as popular as they are at the moment.
