I love the chorus - it's just huge! Especially the last one coming off of Mike and Chester's "like an army..." then Chester just comes back with "NOW IN MYYYY REEEMAAINSS" gets me every time
Hey, I think it's cool too. It's just that LP have made us so used to electronics that hearing a tiny bassline in one of their songs is like "OMG, an ACTUAL bass!"
While i still don't think IN MY REMAINS is an amazing or a very good song I easily can enjoy it . Probably it's "the" song on LT which will deliver the best fan-singing-integration live.
One of the songs that caught me from day one. The chorus has the kind of melody that I like, and it's catchy as fuck. It's definitely on my top 3 even though I would have a hard time choosing a top 3 anyway .. It's one my favorites to sing along to, I think it's brilliant.
I feel like this song is the sleeper hit of Living Things. IMO it makes all of the band's previous alternative-rock style songs like What I've Done look like child's play. The chorus is just MASSIVE! The lyrics are awesome, and the bridge is like a condensed "Lift Me Up, Let Me Go".
I have to respectfully disagree. My friend has followed Foo Fighters religiously for years, and as such I've heard more of them than most other bands out there. Dave Grohl doesn't ever really have the giant "anthem" type of sound that Chester can produce. When he hits high notes it's usually his growls that get him there, and typically (I realize there are exceptions) it's in small bursts. Our opinions can differ, of course, but I personally don't see it.
One of my favorite songs on the album, if not my favorite of all. It feels like the end of the world with the intro for some reason, like something huge is happening among humanity. And the vocals are really good, I love the army falling line.
"Like an army falling one by one" sounds like it could go off live, I can imagine Chester doing a BTH kind of thing with it and letting the crowd take over. How amazing would that be!?
