While I think the song is pimpin', I do think that it's best in context of their other ballads, as has been shown live:

That seems a bit fucked up. It's your funeral and you want to tell people, "Hey, you had everything. But you fucked it up. Now I'm by your side. That's right, I'm a fuckin' ghost."

 

I still can't believe the band put this in the soundtrack of Twilight.

Still one of my all time favorites from Minutes To Midnight.

Also, the live performance that Minus posted still gives me chills when I watch it. I hope they decided to keep it for the Honda Civic Tour cycle.
