I was just thinking about this today. Has anyone actually read the book "King Rat" by China Mievielle? Joe was supposed to start work on the movie since he recentely bought the rights to it and I'm really interested in the book because of that. I never expected in a million years to see dear old Joe Hahn directing a movie, and I can only imagine what his crazy head will produce for this movie. In the event it would be a non mainstream film, I would still try every attempt to get it just to see Joe's work in action. Joe rocked on past Linkin Park videos (especially "From The Inside") and now that he's directing a movie it's just, exciting you know? So who else is hyped about this movie, and has anyone actually read the book? I heard pre-production was supposed to start in late 2003/2004 (I can never remember ####) so if thats the case I'm sure this movie will be completed by 2006 at the latest. (Movies usually take about 2 years to complete on the minimum). Hmmm I need to research this sh*t better.
Somehow, I really doubt this is going to be a "big" movie. I mean, people heard about "King Rat" and were like, "What the f*ck?"
Good point. It's not like "Lord Of The Rings" where everyone and their kids know about the book. I think if it was a theatric release and not some Sundance Film job, it would get a lot of ticket sales only because of Linkin Park fans going to see it. :x
Yeah, what's sad is every library in my district hasn't even heard of the book nor do they have it on their shelves. WTF?! :wth:
I could be wrong but I think iam right but most movies "these days" take around 1 year maby a little shorter to finsh. I hope its a mainstream film with like a budget of 1 million dollars. If its a independant film it would be kind of hard for Joe to make maby I dont really know but hopefully he made the script and pitched the idea to a big movie company and its going to be a big FILM
I can bet it's going to be a limited release movie, probably only shown in big theatres across North America. I'm not sure how limited release movies in the US get over to other parts of the world.
i think it would be better if it was limited. no one would mind if it isnt really good and if it is it would be really popular. but thats just wat i think.
