On another note, I couldn't care much about the LP fanbase being divided or not, I'm only focused on whether I will like or not. However if we concentrate our LP talk on this forum we won't have trouble debating over the music, those kinds of "fans" are rather rare around here.

Now go to the comments section of an Ultimate-Guitar news post and you'll want to bang your head to a wall.

No, it's gonna keep dividing the fans until hopefully enough of them realize that every single album is gonna be different, and then keep being subdivided until it's almost impossible to form sides to make a war. Or until maybe people learn that having different opinions is okay and not really necessary to describe as a 'war.' The sum of the sounds on this album are going to have as many differences with a given album as it would similarities.

What you're describing would only happen if you froze time a decade ago, maybe. But that would be boring.

 

A bit off topic, but if they ever put out an album with that title, I suspect my entire year would be made.

 

I call it a war because everywhere i see old fans and new fans are cursing at each other , fighting with each other, new lp sucks old lp sucks, its fucking ridiculous.
Personally i cant stand their electronic stuff, but i love this band so much that i respect everything that they do, but that doesnt mean i have to like everything they do its msuic

On a more on-topic note, I can't wait to hear comments on the remaining tracks and BLAST LIVING THINGS at home when it is released! I really don't know how to keep myself busy in the LP world until June 26 Any suggestions? I already re-listened to Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Meteora, MTM, and ATS already. Maybe I should listen to them again and again

Now, about the description of the album: I really can't wait to hear CASTLE OF GLASS, LIES, GREED & MISERY and UNTIL IT BREAKS!
And Skrillex influences??? Hell yeah!

 

This short track review sounds promising. I really want to hear UNTIL IT BREAKS. It seems like a fresh hip-hop song with an organic, vintage shape.
If the people who heard parts of LIVIING THINGS just gave some information about the lengths of the tracks, it would be awesome.

From the descriptions we were given so far, IN MY REMAINS sounds like the "least" interesting. But who knows, maybe it'll turn out as one of my favorites.

I personally think LP have found out about this goth-rock band Living Things and thought this name was actually pretty cool. In the first way they were pretty jealous, but then they became defiant and decieded to name their new album Living Things, nevertheless. They considered how it was possible to adapt this name and turn it into something special. So they came up with the idea of writing it all in capitol letters (Don Gilmore). After they took this decision they were very satisfied.

I also heard that phoenix voiced his veto against all track names+album name (except Tinfoil), but he was rejected.

reason: He's not a permanent member of the council and no veto player.

I would judge the title of a song only by the connection it has with the song.. Does it connect the two? Then it's a great title according to me

 

Great to hear Mike is singing some more! I imagine it wouldn't be solely on one track.

 

woot, this was a really nice read. i`m getting more and more excited for the Album release.

 

The song I want to hear the most is Lost in the Echo. Those lines are amazing and I can already imagine Chester singing them, I just hope he really sings them that way

I have the feeling "Lost In The Echo" could become the best LP album opener and a constant opener in live shows. Sounds like it will give us such a big punch in the face!

Also, "Lies Greed Misery" has been described as an highlight in the 2 reviews, I'm really pumped to hear this one.

And lastly, I bet "Castle Of Glass" will be a favorite of the ATS lovers.
