I love how people are so invested in your opinions Sir. Minus.

Also, Mike secretly likes Skrillex as well. That is all.

Just for the record, and I know this isn't much better, but as far as Mike using the word "retarded," he actually meant it as a compliment in that context. Kind of a hip-hop lingo thing.

That was an interesting read. I'm surprised as well Mike didn't mention Jay-Z. However, I think that's a given. He also mentioned a while back about how he likes Jay anyway. So it wasn't TOO big of a surprise. It's nice to see what Mike likes for rap. I hope he does do some singing, especially with Chester. It's clear that he has a lot to offer to any song the band makes. I loved his singing since P5hng Me A*wy on Live in Texas. Though obviously his rapping is better.

And he's held back with that since The Rising Tide on top of his style changing as well. The only disappointment I found on Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns was the lack of Mike's rapping. I wouldn't say no to more Mike/Chester call and respond sorta approaches to the song, i.e. By Myself and Figure .09. Mike definitely has evolved his rapping style from their Xero days. Here's to hoping for more.

I've always thought the verses on "When They Come For Me" showed off Jay-Z influences in Shinoda's rapping, and the way Shinoda carries himself when he does them live shows that as well. :)

There isn't as much rapping on "Midnight" and "A Thousand Suns", but, in my opinion, a benefit of that is it gives more weight to the rap verses that are there and makes them a major highlight on those albums. A perfect example of quality over quantity

The lyric quoted in the Complex article is great, though, so I'm really looking forward to post-"The Rising Tied" Shinoda delivering some class rhymes on the new album. :)

Yeah, I noticed that too in When They Come For Me. I'm such a huge Jay-Z fan thanks to Collision Course. I got excited when I got the reference. Plus great use of a double entendre, definitely something Jay is a master of.

Mhm. Those are excellent points. His style has developed greatly since The Rising Tied. I enjoy his rapping and I do wish for more. But in the end, I do prefer the whole quality over quantity concept.

    June can't come fast enough...
