Mike Shinoda Confirms "LIVING THINGS" as Album Title + Talks Linkin Park Progress

I might be late on this but Mike edited his post: "The single BURN IT DOWN and the album LIVING THINGS (presale) will be available tomorrow."

 

Agreed. The "Living" gives it vibrant energy, but the "Things" is just so generic it drags the whole name down. Of course though it's the songs that matter overall.

New album's called Living Things.

 

I got to know Linkin Park because of the heavy guitars and the rap stuff. It's only 3 or 4 years from now, but my music taste is totally different now. I still like those nu-metal tracks, but these bold changes are what keeps me liking this band. Loving the band.

 

I like the title Living Things. I can already see this album being about "Things" that happen to people "Living" all around the world. Plus the title rolls off the tongue easily

 

I still think they could have come up with a better word. "Things" reminds me too much of those terrible words to use at like a job interview or something. "Stuff", "um", "things", "kinda", "like"

 

Just one wish for the album cover: NO black and white please.

 

Given the title of the album, I'm hoping for some green. Trees or a meadow or something. Maybe with an eagle ripping a fish from the water.

 

Anyone that used words like that in a serious job would be instantly dismissed by me.

 

To be honest, I like the name of the album much more than any of the song names that we know of.

 

The album title will probably make a lot more sense once the album is released.

I'd say "Minutes To Midnight" was their best overall album. I loved the artwork, song names, album name, the songs themselves, everything, but I have a feeling "Living Things" will top it.

Why is eveyone predicting how songs will sound based on the song title? Also why has the album title Living Things been speculated so much? Why about we move on and predict number of songs, album length, song lengths, etc.

That should answer your first question. As for the 2nd, fans will be fans, critics will be critics. It's never going to stop.

 

It's so ridiculous that this title is getting so over analyzed already, when we should be excited about single coming so soon. It's just a name it doesn't matter - music matters. I like that Mike let us know exactly what this album means for them and what's their take on the music they've created so far. Can't wait for the new "hybrid theory" and I got to say - Mike set my expectations very high this time. : )
