Here are the chart positions for "Meteora", "Numb" and "Faint" on the Billboard charts for the week of December 19th - 25th;

Billboard Top 200 Albums Charts
"Meteora" - #23 (Last Week - #32)
"Live In Texas" - #46 (Last Week - #51)
Billboard Modern Rock Charts
"Numb" - #1 (Last Week - #1)
"Faint" - #14 (Last Week - #14)
Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts
"Numb" - #1 (Last Week - #2)
Billboard Hot 100 Singles Charts
"Numb" - #24 (Last Week - #27)

Christmas sales have proven to be effective for Linkin Park this holiday season. "Meteora" jumped nine huge spots to #23 and "Live In Texas" re-entered the top fifty at #46 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums charts. "Numb" is enjoying it's seventh straight week atop the Modern Rock charts as "Faint" also stalled at #14. "Numb" is also number one on the Mainstream Rock charts after jumping one spot from #2 and also leapt three spots to #24 on the Hot 100 Singles charts.

In other news, "Live In Texas" is now gold. The RIAA recently certified the live CD/DVD as a gold album, signifying shipments 500,000 units. It has taken only five weeks to complete this task. Congratulations, Linkin Park!

Yeah is such an amazing song, I was also especially glad to see that it's still hanging on! I hope Breaking the Habit does just as well. ^_^

Hahaha, I second that...I mean, it is good news, but it's not THAT good...it doesn't really merit a thousand exclamation points does it? Haha, I'm such a nit-picker! :wth:

Good news but...

I'm not trying to take away from the Good News but an album being certified, has nothing to do with sales. It's based 100% on shipments (to music retailers) [ex. Madonna's "American Life" album is certified Platinum but only sold around 600k]. I've been tracking sales for "Live in Texas" and it has sold between 300-375k so far, but I do think it will sell over 500k by the time "Meteora" is done.

That's true.

P.O.D.'s new album, Payable On Death, hasn't even sold 600,000 copies and the RIAA has certified it platinum. It's all based on shipments, not sales.

That's why RIAA needs a new system.

I can't help but Agree with you, I mean it really amazing when an artist can sell 3 million albums but be Certified 5x Platinum b/c they've got 2 million sitting on the store shelves collecting dust.

Another thing that's kinda un-related is Double-Cd's, they get twice the Certification b/c there are 2 discs! It's not like the buyer has a choice, they have to take both but Outkast (6x Platinum) and Shania Twain (10x Platinum = Diamond) are really abusing the system. Especially Outkast they've only sold around 2 million units.

They're not letting Linkin Park cheat w/ Meteora & Live In Texas with the bonus discs included or anyone else who releases a bonus disc, so it's not cool.
