Anyone else think these two songs sound similar?

Dead By Sunrise was an incredibly generic sounding rock album. I'm sure the album not only sounds like Nirvana, but any other grunge/gutter rock band of the last 10 years. That might come off mean but simply put Julien-K ruined that album. It's part of the reason I could actually care less about their music because DBS was practically Julien-K with Chester on vocals and the record was way too overproduced. I'd love another DBS album, or another Chester solo album (because he's an amazing vocalist) but only if Julien-K are as far away from it as possible. They were better when they were in Orgy, and I'm glad Jay Gordon is continuing Orgy without them. Sorry if this offends anyone but .

Thought that the first time I heard My Suffering and I pretty much disregarded the song because of it.

I don't agree with a thing you said besides that OoA was a very generic album, which it is. And I don't get how Orgy is going to be any better without the rest of the guys, if anything it'll be worse.

You if wanna hear similar sounding songs listen to pale from LpuX and then something I can never have by NIN. The "still" version. The pianos are almost identical

In a way I feel as though Dead by Sunrise was a product of Chester feeling the weight and pressure of his solo musical endeavor. I won't lie. I was annoyed when a proposed Chester Bennington album was switched to (as mentioned above) Julien-K featuring Chester, or vice-versa. Adding to the fact that the album's logo and color scheme mirrored that of Linkin Park's MTM. Another DBS album? No thanks. Though, I did enjoy 'Walking in Circles'.

It'd be great if Chester gave it another go and actually released a SOLO effort.

I imagine that if Chester did a solo album all the songs would be acoustic guitar only ballads like The Messenger.

Woah someones boarded the hate train today

"Out of Ashes" gets way to much flack IMO. Some songs are indeed generic, yes, but not the album as a whole. Give Me Your Name is beautiful with its slide guitars and Walking In Circles is a visionary song with brilliant lyrics.

YET, I do agree with you wholeheartedly that the album was over produced. It was too electronic in place, and songs like "condemed" and "End of the World" are such old school sounding songs they needed to have a rawer grittier production.

I would love an EP like that, I think a whole album of that would get stale though.
