When it came to the Billboard charts this year, Linkin Park ripped them apart. As the only artist in the past fifteen (15) years to do so, Linkin Park had three (3) number one singles on the Modern Rock Tracks chart with "Somewhere I Belong," "Faint," and "Numb." They also secured number one spots on the Billboard 200 and Top Music Video charts with Meteora and Live In Texas respectively. Although they did not win any awards at this year's Billboard Music Awards, the band was able to remain steadfast on the Billboard charts. Below are the top ten (10) spots from the Billboard 200 and Modern Rock Tracks charts. The Billboard 200 01. 50 Cent – Get Rich Or Die Tryin' (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 02. Youngbloodz selected Linkin Park's Meteora as their sixth (6th) favorite album of 2003. Congratulations to Linkin Park on being one of the most successful Billboard artists of the year! Yea LP forever Good job boys and there success is only because of there hard core fans on the LPA and LPU and all over the world
Saliva's 'ALWAYS' placed ahead of 'Somewhere I Belong'? I honestly don't remember 'Always' as a huge Billboard hit in sales or radio play. I'm not sure how they calculated this list but everything seems off. Shania Twain at number 4(ish)? Sure it posted large first week numbers, but it faded into the lower regions of the 'HOT 100' withen weeks. Congrats to Linkin Park for placing on the list, but I would have to say that with thier over welming year, two great albums, a fantasic live DVD, a hit tour, and three larger than life singles would make more of an impact. Between the grammy snubs (Best Instermental?) and the lack of ANY major awards, Linkin Park are offically the most overlooked band of the year. Y.2.S.J.R.G.C
