Check out my newest song called Consumed. It's about being overtaken by your burdens basically.
Take a listen and tell me what you think.

Thanks for the views so far. If you like what you hear, or even if you don't, post a reply telling me what you did or didn't like about the song. Any criticism/support is extremely appreciated. :) More songs on the way. :peace:

Not a fan of the rapping. I like everything else, though.

It doesn't seem to flow very well.

I can definitely see where your coming from trav. I think if I rerecorded the verse's with a little bit tighter flow it would sound okay, overall how would you gauge the writing(story, message, rhymes) for the song? Thanks for checking out my other songs to btw! Have you had a chance to listen to my cover of Hurt, by Johnny Cash/Trent Reznor?

I haven't listened to the lyrics very closely yet.

I like your Hurt cover. I'm not a fan of Cash's cover, as I think it's much simpler than Trent's version, but you did a good job. It's actually one of my least favorite NIN songs somehow haha.

I like Faded Away a lot. The rapping is better than Consumed, but I think it could still be better. I guess I'm just not a big fan of rapping unless it's a hip-hop song. It'd be nice to hear you sing some verses instead.

Your instrumental work is great. How long have you been making music? How old are you? What DAW do you use?

I love both versions, but my favorite has to be Johnny's cover. I just find it overpowering, it sounds weird but I think I can relate more to Johnny's version even though it's essentially the same song XP

I've thought about trying different approaches, such as singing a simple melody while rapping to give it a slightly more musical feel. Almost the same style Kid Cudi uses with some slight alterations. I haven't quite gained the confidence to try and just sing a song start to finish though. I'll definitely have to try it and see how it works out though!

Thanks man! I've been writing music for about 6 years now. I'm a month away from 19, so lots of time to improve! I use a combination of Pro Tools and Reason. Though I use reason for it's extensive sample library, I prefer to record all the instruments live into pro tools through my Midi Keyboard. I think it gives it a lot more diversity as opposed to just "drawing" In the notes and quantizing :p
