I wish I could ask where those demos are on the net but the association officials would be after me... I bet the faint demo is the slower paced one that is described in the meteora booklet

There were only 2 demos retained from the Meteora sessions, and they're the "Breaking The Habit" and "Faint" demos. There are 2 other songs, dubbed "Nocturnal" and "Shifter," that Mike talked about once. No one's sure whether or not those are completely different tracks from anything on Meteora, or if they're just renamed songs. He talked about them before the tracklisting of Meteora was ever released.

Does anyone know why they destroy the demos before releasing an album?

If people have the Advanced Copy of Meteora some of the songs might be a bit different here and there. Like Alkaline Trio released an Advanced Copy of Good Mourning and the songs have a more 'demo' feel to them and some of the songs lyrics are different. Also, not releasing any of the Meteora demos lower's the likelyhood of people making more unofficial albums. Also, there are some clips of songs that aren't on the album in the LPTV episodes. I think the full lyrics to one were posted on here because they were shown on a piece of paper and I think it was Derek that posted them (I'm not sure).

So basically to answer your question...

I don't really know the exact reason they destroyed the demos...

(Maybe they didn't... You never know...) :shifty:

I don't believe they destroyed the demos...they're probably in an undergroung base , locked up inside a vault...

No, seriously, LP should know that in 10 years or so it will be worth fotrunes...
They'll probably release some of them on an LPU cd...
    someday...sometime...

I think they were in a secret chamber, and held the demo CDs up over a boiling pot of lava, and said HAHA! METEORA IS DONE! WE CAN BE RID OF THESE DEMOS, and they held it over their heads and threw it in the boiling pot and laughed an evil laugh.

    It was just the chorus.

That's the song that Dedicated was talking about. And where the heck did you get 'stop' from? He was yelling out in frustration.

Try Mike's backyard. Apparently they buried them there, but maybe, they are somewhere else, waiting to be released as a promo of some sort... :chemist:
