does anyone know to transfer "non purchased" songs back into my itunes? Or if its easier how do I get itunes to rip my cd's right, whenever I rip into itunes the music comes out as just this weird faint noise. Which is weird because windows doesn't do that. So either how do I sync my "non purchased" songs or how to rip correctly, thank you :)

You need Idump. Simply download Idump, connect your ipod to itunes then open idump select songs/videos you want to transfer. Transfer them onto your hard drive and then put them back on itunes. Hope this helped.

When I transfered my music from my PC to Mac I just used a flash drive. However, I used a 16G flash drive. And they run at about 40$. But you could always use a smaller flash drive and slowly transfer them.

With the issue of music sounding bad from a cd rip, I'd recommend checking the "Import settings" on iTunes, make sure the bit rates are proper. If that doesn't work, I'd say possibly replace your cd drive.

Reguarding the restoration of music from an iPod back to iTunes (under the assumption you are using windows 2000 or better), you will need to go to the "folder options" section of the computer's control panel, and "Show hidden files and folders." Now, while keeping iTunes closed for this process, plug in the iPod into the computer, go to the "My Computer" directory, and you should see the iPod directory. Enter that, and browse through the folders until you find the audio files. Now, the audio files will show up as randomly titled, along the lines of "RLJE", and so on. Simply drag-and-drop the PARENT FOLDER containing all of these files into your iTunes window. Assuming your iTunes and iPod-related softwares are relatively up-to-date, everything should retain it's track information, such as artist, title and album. If not, you may just need to do some tidying up manually.

I hope this helps, so let me know how well this went if you tried it.
