Tonight Linkin Park will play their 3rd show of the band's current Asian tour in Chiba, Japan at the Makuhari Messe. They will be supported by Korean rockband CNBLUE. This will be the first of back to back shows at the Makuhari Messe with the band also playing there on September 11th. This show will also be the first of five in the country of Japan over the next 7 days.

Also going on today before the show is the second day of the ongoing LPU Summit in Japan. Yesterday, the band kicked off the summit with the A Thousand Horizons charity event (which you can rewatch HERE) which featured a unique digital show followed by a long Q&A with Linkin Park. As for today, the summit will include activities such as backstage tours, walking on the band's stage, and an exclusive LPU auction among other things.

The first two shows on this Asian tour in Hong Kong, Hong Kong and Seoul, South Korea had identical setlists which notably saw the return of "The Requiem" as the show opener. Back in late August, "Cure for the Itch" had been the opener in Las Vegas, Nevada and Los Angeles, California. Interestingly enough, disregarding the intros, all four of these shows on this new tour cycle essentially had the same setlist with the exception of Los Angeles which had "The Messenger" replace "Empty Spaces" and "When They Come for Me."

The last time Linkin Park played back to back shows at the same venue was during the very first LPU Summit in London, England at the O2 arena in November 2010. Those two shows saw completely different setlists. So it's very likely that fans will see some variation from the band in the next couple days. Keep in mind that the band still has not played Robot Boy live since the song's existence. It's also possible that they will perhaps try to play A Thousand Suns in full in a show at some point based on comments by the band in the past. Although, nothing is certain.

Is anyone here going to the show and/or the summit? What do you expect the band to play in these next couple days? Let us know in our forums.

Setlist (Confirmed courtesy of Junko H. Iizima):

    01. The Requiem
    02. Papercut
    03. Lying From You

A Thousand Horizons WAS the first day, as far as I'm aware. The Japan show already happened. We're just waiting on the setlist.

*EDIT* See Joe's post below, the setlist I referenced was too short.

Hmm, if it started with The Requiem and Papercut, I still don't think this is the right set. This was at a Festival, not a Linkin Park show. It's a little short, if anything it would be similar to maybe Hamburg, Germany from 21.06.2011 I'd imagine. However, realistically it could be a combination of any of the songs in rotation at the moment:

    01. The Requiem
    02. Papercut
    03. Lying From You
    04. Given Up
    05. What I've Done
    06. Empty Spaces
    07. When They Come For Me
    08. No More Sorrow
    09. Jornada Del Muerto
    10. Waiting For The End
    11. Burning In The Skies
    12. Numb
    13. The Radiance
    14. Breaking The Habit
    15. Fallout
    16. The Catalyst
    17. Crawling
    18. Faint
    19. One Step Closer
    ----------
    20. Wisdom, Justice and Love
    21. Iridescent
    22. Blackout
    23. New Divide
    24. In The End
    25. Bleed It Out

I'd lean more towards the setlist you posted Joe as the correct one. For anybody who went to the show, please look at Joe's post and tell me if it sounds right. We already had one person report the setlist to start with Req/Papercut with a similar song order to Irvine, but they admittedly couldn't remember most of the songs so we need another confirmation before we declare Joe's setlist as the right setlist. Thanks!

If you look at http://lpu.linkinpark.com/summit-tokyo/, it calls ATH day 1. So today is more like an "off day." So now you have to change it again

Well after watching a few videos on YouTube here & here, I know they played Waiting For The End, Faint and In The End followed by Bleed It Out, which either ended the show or went to an encore. If they ended with those it would probably be the set posted above or a similar one to Houston, TX on 03.03.2011:

    01. The Requiem
    02. Papercut (Savio Intro)
    03. Lying From You
    04. Given Up
    05. What I've Done
    06. Empty Spaces
    07. When They Come For Me
    08. No More Sorrow
    09. Jordana Del Muerto
    10. Waiting for the End
    11. Burning in the Skies
    12. Numb
    13. The Radiance
    14. Breaking the Habit
    15. Fallout
    16. The Catalyst
    17. Crawling
    18. Faint
    19. One Step Closer
    ------------
    20. Wisdom, Justice and Love
    21. Iridescent
    22. Shadow of the Day
    23. New Divide
    24. In the End
    25. Bleed It Out (APFMH bridge)

They have setlists where they play In The End & Bleed It Out before the encore but those sets usually open with Faint and not Papercut, so who knows, haha.

It's just insane it's taking this much to confirm which of those 2 setlists it is. With the first two sets, we had confirmation within a hour...with this it's over 5 hours later and nobody has confirmed which setlist it is yet . Good thing that we'll possibly have a pic of the setlist for tomorrow's show. With today they didn't have a physical copy printed, which is why there's no picture proof out yet.

Explain? I don't remember Pooch promising anything. I wouldn't blame Pooch for your dislike of the speculated setlist.

He said Asia would have different setlists.

But it's hard to take that as a fact when he's not actually in the band. And the tour isn't over yet. Certainly the band will play something different tomorrow, being at the same place at the same time.

The thing is, Pooch doesn't determine the set-lists as he's not a member of the band. He's only the band's Front Of House sound tech, so he has no bearing on what songs are played as that is not his responsibility. And even so, set lists change all of the time. Even if Pooch was told the day prior to a show that a new setlist was being played, that doesn't mean that come show-time it will be the setlist he read yesterday as these things change frequently. Songs get removed after they don't sound right in sound checks, and sometimes band member illness/time constraints keep certain songs from being played. Knowing what kind of perfectionists LP are I don't expect "ATS Front To Back" or "Robot Boy" live unless the band can ensure it sounds perfect.

I've asked pooch on Facebook if it was the setlist that Joe posted above. We'll see if he responds with an answer.

And I was just thinking how badass it would be if Mike tweeted "hey @lpassociation the setlist you posted in your show post is correct" :awesome:
