I like it. It's a bit more dark. I loved the First Person shots. And at the very end, the close up you can see his eyes are very big. Almost like a bug.. Kind of.
Trailer looks awesome! Watching on HQ will be even better. edit:
Still can't believe they already rebooted this franchise, though I'll probably watch it opening weekend anyway. That last first person bit of the trailer looked too much like a video game, I hope it looks much better in theatres.
Sony pictures didn't have much of a choice since Raimi had a falling out with the company. From what I remember Sony Pictures have the rights to 6 films total; the 'Amazing Spider-Man' reboot makes the fourth of six in the contract.
I'm not sure how much stock is in that 6 picture deal, but the fact is the rights will lapse if Sony/Columbia don't make a Spider-Man movie within a certain amount of time. (Which is by next year.) Spider-Man is one of the studio's biggest moneymakers, so they don't want to lose those rights. It's pretty much the only reason they rebooted the series so soon.
Gotta get that paper. We'll hopefully it's better than the Raimi trilogy, though I will miss the Bruce Campbell cameos
The first two Spider-Man films that Raimi created were pretty awesome. They worked very well as comic book films imo. Although I think he got carried away with the campy elements a bit too much at points. But overall, they were very well made films. The action sequences in part 2 were brilliant to watch! With this reboot I'm hoping for a more edgy Spider-Man, and from the trailer that's the direction they seem to be going in.
They rebooted because of how much suck the originals had. It isn't nearly as quickly rebooted as say, Hulk. Meh, they were okay at best. They made for good movies, sure. But not Spider-Man movies. There was just something OFF about the whole thing.
The only thing I consistently disliked about Raimi's trilogy was Kirsten Dunst as Mary-Jane. I don't think she's a terrible actress, but she had absolutely no chemistry with Tobey Maguire. Other than that, I loved the first two Spiderman films.
The second Spider-Man was the most critically acclaimed superhero movie until The Dark Knight came around. Edit: Now that I look on IMDB, it's actually 1 point out of 100 better than The Dark Knight, which is baffling. So there we have it. Spider-Man 2 is the best superhero movie ever lol.
Pretty much everyone's been talking about the Mirror's Edge thing Btw I'm interested in what's being dubbed as the "indie drama" side of the story.
Well, (spoiler ahead) if they go with the storyline of Peters parents being spies, and are killed by someone (Red Skull - or maybe they'll tie it into The Lizard somehow) it could develop into a sort of "off the mark" super hero film. Which would be the indie of Super Hero movies. Most of them try to be bright and quirky... Exceptions being Spawn, The Dark Knight, etc. So, I'd have no problem with an indie-esque Spider-Man. As long as the Hero himself is on top of his humor and the acting is done well. Well, bring it on.
The 'Mirror's Edge' part is cool too me, but seems like the CGI aren't great enough to be put on 3D screen alone. Well, hope this is only for the trailer, as if it's really part of the film, it's easy to feel sick, especially when watching that 3D/IMAX 3D kinda stuff.
