Not to mention Chester was also recording Dead By Sunrise and then later started touring for the album.

As long as the band doesn't get pulled to the side for any side projects I can see an album in 2012 for sure.

O HAI EVERYONE. I HEAR SOMEONE NEEDS A PADDLIN'.

OH SHIT GUYS. BOTH ALBUMS ARE BLACK AND WHITE. THAT MUST MEAN THEY'RE EXACTLY THE SAME. JUST LIKE HOW THESE TWO ALBUMS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME:

    [thumb]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-egiCzw72-1Y/TDSob3QsY2I/AAAAAAAAAAM/HWm-pnYOT6c/s1600/capa.jpg[/thumb]
    [thumb]http://cover7.cduniverse.com/MuzeAudioArt/500/502168.jpg[/thumb]

And not only that, but they're both black and they're both called Black Album! Damn, Jay-Z and Metallica make the same kind of music?

Are we talking about structure? In a Linkin Park thread? Well in that case...

The following songs have very similar structure, namely, instrumental (either guitar or sampled) intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus to the end:

Papercut, One Step Closer, With You, Runaway, By Myself, In The End, A Place For My Head, Pushing Me Away, Don't Stay, Somewhere I Belong, Lying From You, Hit The Floor, Easier To Run, Faint, Figure.09, Breaking The Habit, From The Inside, Nobody's Listening, Numb.

On the other hand, you have songs like Robot Boy with no chorus. You have songs like Valentine's Day, that doesn't have a chorus until the end of the song. You have songs where Mike sings, and exactly one song where Chester raps. The instrumentation is VASTLY varied, and you get to a point where two songs from the same album don't even SOUND like they're from the same album.

    [youtube]dHCasvWLZwA[/youtube]

And from a musician's standpoint, those two solos are not similar.

Are you serious? You're comparing two albums and saying they're similar because they have hard songs? Well shit. Hybrid Theory and Meteora both have instrumental songs.

Minutes To Midnight is, at it's best, a solid set of light rock anthems.
A Thousand Suns is, to put it lightly, an extremely electronic album with rock elements.

To say they're similar is like saying I like Meteora. It's just not true.

That original post was so far out in space I didn't think it was serious.
Then again, these are Linkin Park fans, so maybe it was serious.

I was about to lay the smackdown on the people thinking A Thousand Suns and Minutes To Midnight sound alike.

But I arrived to the scene to find nothing but wreckage, carnage, and Minus standing over a pile of dead bodies (who had all been wearing Meteora-era t-shirts incidentally), his body soaked in blood.

We made eye-contact for what felt like hours, but was probably around 10 seconds. He then wiped the blood away from his mouth, howled at the moon, and disappeared into the shadows.

    I think I'm pregnant. I'm a man.

I try to summarize my thoughts about the release of the next album: "Early 2012?"..."No, never,...it´s like breaking a tradition"
But honestly it would be a lie if I said that I don´t want a new album soon.

I'd shake your hand for writing a post worthy of my calibre, but we both know what'd happen.

I'm feeling an April/May 2012 release. Seriously. But I could be wrong, of course.

Regarding the "early" part in the title, Rolling Stone is probably assuming that if the band wants to release an album every 18 months, they would shoot for this upcoming March (18 months from last September).
