A lot of folks at my "home" forum are big fans of the books, so I can tell you for certain that SPOILERS: He's definitely dead and he is definitely not coming back. Unfortunately having frequented that thread throughout the series I've known it was gonna happen since episode 2, and let me tell you it made the imprisonment scene all the more dreadful. And you'll find Arya, Lord Snow, and Dany will be much more like leads from now on.
Ughhh! I stress this again... DO NOT DISCUSS THE BOOK HERE! Edit your post if you've spoiled anything.
I just found out that there's a Ned Stark meme haha. Search for "stupid ned stark" on google images edit: SPOILERS AHEAD: http://www.buzzfeed.com/donnad/introducing-stupid-ned-stark
lol @ Spoiler FUCKING DRAGONS! /Spoiler Man this show is unpredictable as fuck, can't wait for season 2. It definitely does suck that we have to wait a whole year, I felt the same after The Walking Dead season 1 finale, and that season was only 6 episodes. Oh well, at least Weeds starts next week. Favorite scene of this season is from episode 7 when Spoiler Khal Drogo gives that stupid wannabe "a crown for a king" that was so fucking cool /Spoiler
BLOOD OF MY BLOOD!!!!!! What an ending! Spoilers: The unpredictability is what makes this show! The ending made up for the loss of Ned Stark to a degree. Can't fucking wait to see the White Walkers and the Dragons in action! Oh and I want to see Joffrey die slow in the next season. What a bitch. Sansa should've roundhouse kicked him off that plank.
its a pretty great show. Very complex, yet i really love it. Full of characters you love to hate. And that ending was superb. I was waiting the whole season to see *ahem* that at the end. Amazing stuff!
I just started watching this 3 days ago and I finished the finale tonight. What a waste of a season. Very good character development, but other than that it missed out on basically every chance to make the show special.
It didn't delve into any of the interesting aspects of the show. And every turn of the story was just anticlimactic. The production and acting are top-notch, but the story is just lackluster considering how epic the scale is and how much potential that brings.
I don't know if you know, but the show is based on the series of books called A Song of Ice and Fire. This first season is based on the first books from 7 that are planned at the moment (5 are finished so far). So yeah, the story is far from finished, this is basically just the introduction.
Like Dusan said, it's just the starting of something that will branch out into bigger things. But despite that, I don't see how anyone can knock the first season when it comes to the story. It was just too perfect imo.
