They'd be foolish not to start making a Sequel for the PS4 and next generation of xbox. The game was a hit, and it's better to start improving the flaws this game had and perfect the technology now so that LA Noire 2 will be even better.
I agree, this game could become a very popular franchise. It will be interesting what will hold for this game's future.
I could see this game being made in modern times at some point, but then it couldn't hold the Noire name. Maybe they could release the next one based in 1957, then 1967, so on and so fourth. Would be cool.
^ You do know Noire is French for black, for the City of Angels to be Black is intended, right? Okay so here's my review for the game. After playing it for quite a while, I reckon it is the most overhyped game of the year that really does not live up to its potential, game play wise. Yes, the graphics were ground breaking and great, but that's what you really pay for when you get this game. L.A. Noire unlike it's sandbox brother Red Dead Redemption is a game for the people who enjoy such shows as CSI: Miami and Bones. Rockstar could have done better plot wise, and it's a huge disappointment in my books. The driving was okay, back and forth and eventually through all sorts of regions of the City of Angels, control wise, yes, as goes for the shooting. Although, how come Red Dead Redemption has the crouch feature and the one game that is more realistic (graphically) doesn't have that option? I was let down with that option. The interaction of characters seemed a little bland at time, one time your partner will be yakking his guts off talking to you in the car and then when you re-enter the car with him after pit stopping somewhere, he'll completely shut up and say nothing until you ram the car in front of you. I can see where Rockstar was coming at with this game, with the whole investigative CSI type game, but there's no freedom to do what you want most of the time, where as other games like RDR and GTA you can take your time and dawdle on missions. No freedom = complete boredom. Sorry guys but I refunded my $88 after playing this game for a few hours. It really wasn't worth it.
Well to be frank, this was not suppose to be like RDR or GTA, due to the fact Team Bondi was the creator, Rockstar is just the publisher. This is a linear game, not really free roam; there ain't much to do while on free roam I completely agree with you with that. In my opinion they did okay with the side mission they had (street crimes, finding rare cars), they kept it little; which is meant for this game since it really wants you to keep your attention to the games story. What I always say to people who expect free roam for this game, I tell them to not expect a Grand Theft Auto/ Red Dead Redemption kind of free roam; it's a linear story based game obviously. I think the reason why they put up the side missions they had was just to have some action (i.e. street crime shootouts), that's pretty much it. As a story its great (in my opinion), but as free roam it's not the best but it's duable. The game ain't for anyone, but glad you gave your honest opinion and tried it. One of the reasons I liked it was because it was slow and made me think; something I haven't played in a game ever. I like trying things new.
Yeah, but that's not what it's referencing in the title. It's more referencing film noir, which is a type of movie style, mainly for crime dramas, made popular in the 40s, which is when this game took place. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_noir
