I hope this is better than Oblivion. I still play Morrowind now and then but can't really enjoy Oblivion as much. Skyrim needs a better fighting system. Pretty pumped this is coming out way sooner than I expected, though.

I for one am super pumped, I loved the mechanics of Oblivion, but the lore and environment of Morrowind was so much better, hopefully Skyrim combines these both.

Well it's been stated that thy are using a different engine for this one. Who knows what that will mean in the end result however. I actually preferred some things in Oblivion over Morrowind and vise-versa. Morrowind wins in lore and general scope, Oblivion's combat was a lot more natural I think. There was no longer a percentage chance of whether or not you could hit something. And I hated the ridiculous brightness of Oblivion. It was always either to dark or to bright. I can't wait for Skyrim to come out though, or heck, just a gameplay video would be nice.

Yeah Morrowind definity wins the lore and setting categories. I know there will be kids in skyrim,so this will only add to the realism.

Weird, potentially quite nice though. Really depends on how they work with it.

True, especially when the game ages and the fans make graphical improvements. I wonder if 3d mods would be possible this go round?

Just watched that interview, and I'm really pumped for this now. The combat system for Morrowind and Oblivion sucked, to be blunt. Plus it had everything to do with your weapon or spell, not your strength/magic or skills really. The weapon/spell would do the same damage no matter how strong you were or how skilled you were with that weapon/spell. As soon as I got a daedric weapon in Morrowind I could basically slaughter whole towns. And pretty much all spells sucked and weren't worth using.

Another thing that was a problem was enemy scaling. You could venture deeper into the game and enemies would never get tougher.

But Skyrim seems to be a massive improvement in both of those departments. I only wish they'd use simple XP leveling like oldschool RPGs for your basic stats like strength, speed, HP, etc. Then all your skills could level with how much you use them. The whole leveling thing seemed pretty lackluster, despite it being pretty in depth and complicated.

Yeah I'm liking that they'll have a mix of leveled and set caves and stuff. I was digging the screenshots too, looked like they were going for a mix of Skyrim and the more tribal Morrowind.
