About a week ago, I went to see if I could pre order ATS+ at Platekompaniet (the place where I buy CD's, because I live in Norway). When I took a quick look at the the sites official review/information of the album, I was surprised. It said that the new version of Iridescent, the one from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, were included in this edition of ATS. In Norwegian: In English: This deluxe edition includes a new version of the song "Iridescent", from the movie Transformers 3. It alson includes a bonus DVD with a concert from Madrid. Track list: Source: http://www.platekompaniet.no/Musikk.aspx/CD/Linkin_Park/A_Thousand_Suns_-_2011_Deluxe_Edition_mDVD/?id=9362495889 Do you think it's just false information?
I believe it might be real, but try searching LP sites to see if there were any such official releases.
I had a feeling this would happen and I suspect is the reason why A Thousand Suns + is yet to be released in the States. My guess is that this will be the version released in the US.
They've got a Japan Edition and a European Edition of ATS+ at HMV Japan, but I don't know if the two versions are any different. Both track lists says "12 Iridescent". I haven't found any other information confirming that the original Iridescent will be replaced with the 2011 version/remix. The original Iridescent is on any ATS. The 'new' version is for Transformers 3 only. If anything, the 'new' version will be a bonus track. Empty Spaces, on the other hand...
But ATS+ isn't released in Europe and US yet, so there's still a chance of the original Iridescent to be replaced. We'll just have to wait and see.
Yeah, this makes sense. I really don't think they will replace the album version with the Transformers version, that would be pretty silly imo. --- I think Minus should change his name to Empty Spaces and replace his avatar and signature with empty spaces.
Why would an edited version of a song made solely for a film replace the original version of the same song on a release completely unrelated to said film? This makes no sense, I'd be willing to bet anything that this isn't true.
I'm definitely not a rocket scientologist, but I'm surprised at the doubt here! I could care less one way or another, but it is ATS+, and seeing as how the new version isn't really all that different IMO, I could see it replacing the original for this version. BTW is it being released in the US? That cover is too rad to pass up.
"Hey guys, let's replace the original version of Iridescent with a new version that's shorter, leaves out a whole bunch of vocals, awkward instrumentation and doesn't fit with the rest of the album! You know, like Empty Spaces!" I'm sorry, but the idea that the 'new' version of the song would replace the original in an actual CD is laughable. Watch as I laugh. Hell, it's so funny that this dog finds it humorous.
I doubt that it's going to happen, though it would have been cool if they did replace it. Then it would be other reasons to get it, other than the live DVD and for collecting. But that's just my opinion.
