It has been announced that Microsoft will no longer be marketing the Zune MP3 players http://mashable.com/2011/03/14/rip-zune-player-2006-2011/ From my standpoint, the Zune never had the chance to compete with the iPod. It just never had the same popularity, and I have only known a few people to even own one. What are your thoughts?
I saw that in my feed today. Balls, I was thinking about good alternatives to Apple that I could use once my iPod Video dies beyond repair.
I saw this on PCMag It truly breaks my heart, I had an HD, but when i got my iPhone, its pretty much been in the dust. Microsoft needs to take advantage of the great products the put out, and push the envelope, cuz even if you're better (zune), it doesnt matter if you're late to the party.l
This is extremely ironic. Way back before the beginning of time, the superior architecture of PowerPC that was being put into the early Apple computers failed to beat Intel's very-rushed architecture to market, and Intel took over. And now a ginormous section of the computing world has to just DEAL with intel's architecture. Now the roles got reversed, lol.
So basically Microsoft is shitting itself while in competition with Apple, forcing it to concentrate on a market that is 0.000001% of it's users? I dunno know about the stats in this case, but I reckon more people would use their physical Zune product rather then their integrated non-physical Windows Smart Phone Zune software.
I've always told people this would happen. But they would say "Oh, well the ipod started out popular too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!!!." Bitch, please . Anyways, before we know it, an mp3 player that doesn't make calls will be considered a joke.
Errrmmm Of course that doesn't mean that there will be new Zune devices, but devices that run Zune software are probably very likely and if it does the same things a Zune does and has Zune software, how may I ask can Zune be gone when it's main source is still there?
The only reason why the iPod was so popular was because it was made famous by it's strategical marketing schemes and it's trademark ads on the television. If it wasn't for such a recognizable trademark, it would be nothing much less than a B-side MP3 player. So bitch please Other than that after two iPods I can pretty much say Zune was MUCH better. I not only got it on my XBOX Live subscription I got the real player, then the toilet that defeats both players ended its life. Find me an iPod that is toilet resistant (not that the toilet claimed my Nano and Mini) AND I can integrate into my XBOX Live account than I'll quit my whining.
