Joe:
"Now guys what i'm thinking is like.. imagine all these people, in random shots, doing random things like say.. playing foozball? Or staring out windows and staring into mirrors"
Rest of band:
"Nice! You're totally onto something here! Then what?
Joe:
"Well, I will then show the same footage but slowed down, maybe show a girl looking in the mirror, then add some goldfish into one of the shots"
Rest of band:
"Haha awesome!! That's genius, dude what happens next?"
Joe:
"Thank you guys, I know! I spent the entire trip to the bathroom working on this treatment, now next what i'm thinking is keep repeating these shots, and repeat, and this time add an old guy in there, along with a little kid with a halloween mask, you know just randomly staring into space in their houses"
Chester:
"Joe don't you think the whole.. slow motion close up thing is getting a little old now? Like, we had it in The Catalyst a lot and, I for one thought the whole thing sucked, apart from where Mike was wiggling his tongue, hehe that was funny dude.
But seriously, slow motion close ups just aren't that interesting, I think most of our fans now have every pore in my face saved in their photographic memory, I think we should go with another idea"
Joe:
"Haha! You almost had me there man! Hahaha!"
Chester:
"........."
Joe:
"Now what I was thinking was, well we've been given a decent budget this time around so why don't we have some explosions?"
Brad:
"Yeah!! I love explosions!!"
Joe:
"Oh yeah!! But only about 10 seconds of explosions"
Mike:
"Joe you are a visual genius, that's perfect!"
Joe:
"I know, i'm a great director"
Rest of band:
"Hell yeah!"
Joe
"This music video definitely won't suck"

This music video was genius, I mean, the close ups of really mundane things, these shots really emphasised upon the whole concept of every day boring stuff that people do with their lives, totally amazing, it's about time that Joe tried something new and he has shown it with this music video, the part where Rob is lifting the drum sticks and them crashing them down, woah! He didn't do that in The Catalyst, or New Divide, or What I've Done or Waiting For The End did he? The close up, slow motion shots really are a departure too, a complete outlier compared to every other recent LP video,
and I'm glad that we finally got a true, meaningful storyline this time around,
an explosion in the middle of a city, originality at it's finest.
Well done Joe, well done rest of the band for nodding your heads to this masterful film-making.

Their videos have only been getting better and better (and we'll forget about every MTM era video).

 

Oh no, I am definitely not being sarcastic, I intrinsically love every aspect of this music video, and Joe Hahn's large array of directorial attributes.

 

I think that was really funny. Made my day.

I don't know, I understood why they did it, and in theory it's pretty cool. In practice, not so much.

No, the Burning In The Skies video really is not very good at all. Some people like it for the underlying story of a bomb being dropped on a city and it showing everyone's last moments, albeit in a bunch of random slow motion shots.

But did we really need a sarcasm thread, and then a what you really mean thread? XD

 

This is quite possibly the most unsubtle, blatantly obvious, pathetic display at attempting to be sarcastic that I've ever seen. And I've seen Jesse post, so that means something.

 

I am serious about there being another video.
