I tried the beta x64 version like 2 months ago but flash player wouldn't work with it. Then it wouldn't even let me get IE 8 back. So I've been using Chrome since.

I haven't tried it out yet (waiting for the beta version), but I've read that it's faster than even Chrome, and looks like it will be the new top-dog in the browser game. It seems as if Microsoft is getting a bit of a better foothold as of late. XBox sales are huge, Bing is gaining marketshare, IE9 is already receiving grand reviews, and Nokia just announced they'll be making WP7 phones.

i don't know if it is faster, from the looks of it chrome seems to be faster, but i have no idea
any idea how i conduct a test on it?

edit: i tested the browsers that i have and the results were,
internet explorer 9 release candidate 1
    1mb file = 12.1 seconds
    3mb file = 60 seconds
    google chrome
    1mb file = 23.2 seconds
    3mb file = 85 seconds
    firefox
    1mb file = 26.3 seconds
    3mb file = 71 seconds
so internet explorer 9 is the fastest on my reults, but in order for this to be compkletely tue we need a few other peopel to try it

if you want to test too, donwload the release candidate 1 and then go to here and test the three broswers
make sure nothing else has access to the internet, oh crap, i was playing bc2 while doign this but i will try it again later anyway

Does it have all the plugins that Firefox has? No? Well then it's completely useless.

No, we don't need anyone to try it. That link is testing download speed. The fact that your fastest result was with IE is just a coincidence. Connection speeds fluctuate and are never consistent. You're not testing browser rendering speed at all with that link.

The real test of rendering capabilities is the Acid 3 test and while IE9 is a huge improvement on it over IE8, it's still beaten by Chrome, Safari and Firefox 4 Beta.

I don't think I could ever trust Internet Explorer after all the trouble I've had with it over the years, even if it became a respectable browser, I just couldn't.

I'll stick with my Chrome. Haven't had any trouble since I started using it.

IE = the perfect browser to download another browser. It's a memory hugging sob browser of a thing. I use Chrome on Jay's recommendation and never have regretted using it as my default browser.
