You know that T-Shirt with a comic with Mike printed on it that says "Try the Ketchup Motherf*cker!", you can watch it here:
    http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33320

This T-Shirt brings something up in me that really annoys me. They are boasting how much they changed, it's a motive of their campaign.

This is ridiculious because though ATS has been a radical change, not necessarily in the wrong direction, the final product couldn't meat expectations of serious audiophiles, in fact it is a collection of electronic-heavy songs of different styles but with little connection and limited individuel originality.

I like to tell myself maybe LP just need more time with the electronics for these are very powerful but also very complex. LP as a medium skilled band with a respectable Bandleader(Mike) might be able to improve next time when they figured out more clearly how the eMusic becomes graspable.

But they won't if they don't realize ATS was just not it.

lol. Are you suggesting that your taste in music is superior to others? Or that your opinion matters more than others? Are people who loved ATS somehow not "serious audiophiles."

You seem to have built a high horse for yourself.

I'm so confused right now. What does our t-shirt have to do with ANYTHING you just said? Are you talking about the original line from When They Come For Me "try to catchup motherfucker"? Like, are you saying they're boasting they have changed and you're saying it's nothing new? I'm so lost right now... someone reassure me I'm not the only one.

LMAO. I think he's saying he indeed doesn't like the original "Try to catch up motherfucker" line because he doesn't like the bands change. Although I guess that's his opinion, it's ridiculous for him to bring up the shirt lol. Even if you don't like the lyrics (which, I don't know why you don't), it's just good humor. Wow.

He's saying that the T-shirt couldn't meat expectations of serious audiophiles. It's obvious he's from PETA.

Not only that, he made silly typos throughout his entire post and assumed the lyrics actually were "try the ketchup motherfucker!", when the shirt itself is a parody of existing lyrics in When They Come For Me.

With all due respect, os neutral please don't assume that just because ATS didn't quite fill your cup of tea, that you represent all "serious audiophiles" when you make that statement. You're allowed to have an opinion, and to dislike an album (thats what an opinion is)...but please don't put words in other people's mouths. There are plenty of "serious audiophiles" on this board that consider ATS not only a strong step up from LP's previous work, but a musical masterpiece. Opinions differ from person to person, and speaking as if you represent everyone with your statements makes you come off arrogant. No offense.

I'm sure he knows the real lyrics, that's why he says they're boasting about changing.

A tee brings me some serious thoughts of a serious album. I don't see the connection between this.
Or maybe he just want a tron : legacy t-shirt? (that looks indeed electronic)

It's not worth trying to put a serious retort to this guy. He's posted pretty much the same thing goodness knows how many times, I think, and judging by past form as long as you're disagreeing with him at all the only thing you'll get in response is "hurr ur just a fanboy".

I don't mean to hate on anybody by any means, but seriously, is os neutral just going to post to bitch about the album and why no one should like it because he doesn't?

Seems to be a problem with seeing the connection^^ Well, this T-Shirt pretty much expresses the campaign LP is doing around ATS. The we-are-the-new-independent-LP-and-if-you-don't-think-its-awesome-you-just-didnt-catch-up! - Promotion. It's the commercial campaign-concept to sell ATS. Doesnt mean LP didn't really tried something new, but they obviously felt they had to push it as some kind of revolution of LP music to support their 'innovation'.
Somebody telling me there are serious audiophiles around here who think, ATS was a masterpiece? Well, the former I believe, but the latter is ludicrous. If somebody who listens to a lot of music intensively and exploratively without prejeduce and with a musical background rates an album a masterpiece, they put it on a level with chosen gifted artists of the past decades and that really cant be taken serious. I know a lot of LP fans like the variety LP offers them but the songs lack comprehensive complexity. Take Tom Waits, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd or Peter Gabriel - just a few examples. Their abilty to craft a song so balanced and natural gives their music a whole new quality, which LP can't reach because they tend to exaggerate the utility of eMusic. It is like a very difficult instrument to master, though once mastered beeing a powerful tool.

LP still has to learn that less is sometimes more and simplicity doesnt have to be simple or boring.

And if a seem arrogant, too bad but the lesser equipped ones are blind for the extra-degree of differentiation the better equipped are capable of. I'm just beeing honest, telling what most better equipped won't admit openly out of political correctness.

Actually Mike has shown in Fort Minor that he is capable to reach this level with Kenji or Cigarettes, maybe Right Now as well. And that is the reason I still did not turn my back on LP because I can still see a potential.

For fucks sake, the shirt is just advertising a joke that it sounds like he's saying "ketchup" rather than "catch up." I'm not an admin, but I can tell you that this shirt is being sold for complete comical purposes (and maybe to get some cash for those servers :)) and is not trying to advertise Linkin Park's apparent attitude that you're trying to describe. Get over it.
