I was having this conversation with a online friend. We talked about life. Like basicly he says that you think you truely care about someone. But you don't. You only think you feel one way when you feel another. He didn't say it in those exact words but thats how I put it in my own words. I kind of agree cause I never know how I feel. Like at one moment I'd think I'd feel one way but as I look back I notice I really felt another way. Its really weird. Its like you don't know how you truely feel. You only think you do.

So, tell me if you agree with this or not. Also, you can put whatever thoughts on life you want on here. Its not a rant thread. Its more of a philosophy in life thread. So don't rant or anything or use this as a Random Thoughts thread. This thread is for thoughts of life. I'm pretty sure everyone has a time were they really think about life. So go ahead and post your thoughts on life.

someone said this a long way back:
<div align=center>"Live life as if you're going to die tomorrow"</div>

That's something I try to do every single day of my life. You can never be sure when your time will actually be up - which is why I always try to make up with people I've fought with and other things like that.

You also have to learn how to take risks - to make mistakes and learn from them >_>'

In my eyes the glass is always half full =P

I don't live life day by day, I live it for the future.

On everything I do I think of the consequence and what could happen by me doing it. I constently think of what having kids or a wife will be like in the future, and it makes me happy. I tend to think of this glass as being ''half-empty'' per say. Not always does it put you in a good train of thought, but I'm sure I'll be happy in the future.

one problem is emotions blind you, and how you really feel

the weird thing is i was listening to Class Of 1999 - Sunscreen, its a really meaningful song about life

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of 99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
    than my own meandering
experience I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years youll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you cant grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked.Youre not as fat as you
    imagine.

Dont worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm
    on some idle Tuesday.

Do one thing everyday that scares you

    Sing

Dont be reckless with other peoples hearts, dont put up with
people who are reckless with yours.

    Floss

Dont waste your time on jealousy; sometimes youre ahead, sometimes
youre behind the race is long, and in the end, it only with
    yourself.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.

    Stretch

Dont feel guilty if you dont know what you want to do with your
lifethe most interesting people I know didnt know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
    olds I know still dont.

    Get plenty of calcium.

Be kind to your knees, youll miss them when theyre gone.

Maybe youll marry, maybe you wont, maybe you’ll have children, maybe
you wont, maybe youll divorce at 40, maybe youll dance the funky
chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary what ever you do, dont
congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either your
choices are half chance, so are everybody elses. Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can dont be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, its the greatest instrument youll ever
    own..

Danceeven if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.

Read the directions, even if you dont follow them.

Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Get to know your parents, you never know when theyll be gone for
    good.

Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the
people most likely to stick with you in the future.

Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you
should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
    knew when you were young.

Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live
in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.

    Travel.

Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do youll fantasize
that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders.

    Respect your elders.

Dont expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one
    might run out.
Dont mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will
    look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
    its worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen

A good friend of mine once told me to live life like you are going to kill yourself the next. I followed her advice and it worked. I have come to tell things I would never have imagined. I have done things I wouldn't have imagined. And I better after doing these things.

When my old girlfriend broke up with me, it took a while to get rid of my feelings for her. Eventually I did and moved on and started to like someone else.

But lately I can't stop thinking about her. I know I should consider myself lucky we are still friends and doing good, but it jsut doesn't feel the same.

I plan on telling her the way I feel whether she will give me a second chance or not.

I remember this Chinese religion. I forgot the name of it but it states that you have a purpose in life. And for that purpose you live. This religion believes that if you don't exceed in this purpose (or do what your purpose in life) you'll keep being recarnated until you've done what your supposed to do. I believe that this is true. I think we do have a purpose. We may not know it. But there may be this event in our life that we did, that was our whole purpose, and if you didn't do it, you'll keep being recarnated until you fufill this purpose. To them being recarnated is a bad thing. Thats why they work really hard to try to fufill their purpose. I really do believe this. I mean, what other reason could there be for our living? There has to be a reason, and as of now, this reason is the most convincing to me.

I also believe that we have our time. That everything in life is already set for you. I believe when your born, your whole life is already set. Who you are, what you are, everything. I also believe in soul mates. Once your born, you already have a soul mate chosen for you and fate will bring you to them. For those who never marry or anything, perhaps they were here for another purpose.

Its pretty confusing, really. I mean, you can go on for years thinking about it and still not know anything. Maybe this life is just a test. Sort of like how we get a mouse/rat and stick it in a maze and see what happens. Maybe in life, we're the mouse/rat being looked at to see what would happen.

Ah, heres something thats been bothering me for years. (Since I was in Elementary) Okay, someone/thing created us. Right? Well, what created that? And if nothing created it, than how did it create itself? I mean, how can you just pop up? I mean before there was anything. I mean theres nothign around. Not even a universe. Something just pops up and creates a universe and life and all that. How can that be done? Its so weird. One second theres nothing, the next, theres a whole big place with life on it. In a way, its scary.

I like to just live life as it comes. I wish I didn't...but I think about the past a lot. It's kind of a bad thing, but it's a hard thing not to do when you were happiest in the past.

One thing I think about though is that eventually, if you want it to enough, everything will work out for you.

life is sad. we just live. and then we die. everytime i think about it, i feel crapy... and i think about it when i'm waiting for a bus, wasting time... all that... here's my dumb thing... i hope it makes sense...

[...we spend the best years of our lives learning how to spend the worst years of our lives in the best possible way...]

...make sense?? no... but i just hate how you're only young once... haven't gotten over that yet... you know, the old Peter Pan Syndrome... i wish things went backwards... you know, get born old and live until you are tiny... hmm... i mean, our brain, body all that... it's all fresh and new when you're young... and then... things start dying... we can't hear right... we can't walk right... we can't see right... and then... we die... BUT YOU KNOW WHAT'S COOL!!??

i saw this animated movie thing... 'waking life' and it was about this dude who couldn't wake from his dream... well anywho, at one stage, he's told how when you die, your brain works for another 20 minutes... in that time, you dream... and because dreams seem to last for so long... it's like a whole other life... so right now, this could all be a dream... I COULD HAVE DIED!!! yeah... anywho...

i think i brained my damage with all this thinking... END.

I think about that a lot. What if this life was all just one man's dream?

Or sometimes I think if this is my own dream. When you're dreaming it seems all so real...so this life i'm living could be a dream.

One thing I think everyone should do in life is just have fun. Do whatever it is makes you happy. I saw a quote once and I loved it.

"There is no greater sorrow than to recall in misery the time when we were happy."

If you don't get it at first, think about it a little.

I am not a very positive person so my rule of life is 'Life is a b***h and then you die'. Things either go really well or they go really bad. Simple as that. I tried the whole positive vibe about life thing but it never worked.

I don't know if anyone else has felt this way. But you know the movie "The Truman Show"? Well, I sometimes see life to be that way at times. I get paranoid, thinking someone is watching me. That everyone around me are really just actors pretending to be something their not and that I'm the only real thing here. I guess I outta stop watching movies for a while.. o_O

Aside from that, I've noticed something about myself. The same friend from before told me he does this and I noticed that I do too. If someone looks at me funny, I end up thinking why they would look at me that way. Than I'd think back in the past to see if I did something to them or if I looked at them funny. If someone smiles at me, I end up wondering why they smile. I end up laying in bed at night thinking about everything that has happened. As far as I can remember. (Bad memory) I guess I'm a big thinker. Its like every little thing that happens, I wonder why it happened and if I did something else, would it have come the same way. I mean, is it true that you really can change your future, or the choice you made (good or bad) is the choice you were meant to choose. Or do we really have the freedom in this life to choose ourselves. If I make a choice, is it really me making this choice, or just something greater making me choose it and having me think I made the decision?

Yeah, life can be like that for all we know. Like, we think we have free will but what if when something happens, it was supposed to happen and was set from the day you were born. Its creepy, really.

Well, I used to be one of those 'life's a b*tch and then you die" people, but in the last 6 months, 3 people I knew that are all my age died. This has really made me look at life in a very different light. I now realize that we must live life to it's fullest, we only really have a short time here so we need to do what we want, when we want it. I take this very seriously... I mean, I could have a TON of homework, but if there is something that I want to do that will make me happy, then I'll do it. I know I shouldn't because I might be wasting my time here at college, but what the hell, it's my life! Just remember to take it one moment at a time, take it all in and enjoy! ^_^
