As you may remember, Music For Relief (the charity founded by Linkin Park) started a campaign back in 2010 called "Download To Donate" in response to the devistating earthquake that hit Haiti which is estimated to have taken the lives of over 200,000 people. This program has recently been updated with new songs by new artists which are available to download when you pledge $10 or more. Some of the new artists featured include Thrice, The Glitch Mob, Switchfoot and Everest. You can check out the new featured artists here (along with some of the old ones).

The aim of this program is to spread as much awareness as possible of the ongoing struggle to help the Hatian people recover from this disaster. Here at the Linkin Park Association, we urge everyone to seriously consider pledging to this fantastic cause. Thank you.

No one is going to pledge ten dollars just to get 10 songs from The Glitch Mob who no one gives a crap about and to get songs from shitty bands like thrice and switchfoot. There isn't even a new LP song. Most people would have even been happy with a DBS b-side or something. Download To Donate V2.0 = major fail!

No need to start dissing something that is for a good cause.

The point is no one is going to get it witth just the addition of those tracks and they should've known that.

Actually a lot of people give a crap about The Glitch Mob, and like Thrice/Switchfoot. Just because you find the bands contained within this release 'shitty' doesn't mean that DTD 2.0 is a bad album. Please have respect for other people's musical tastes.

How would you know? Cody_Wayne does not equal the rest of the world. The Glitch Mob has been doing rather well as far as having a fanbase as a matter of fact

Furthermore, the reason why DTD isn't just all Linkin Park is because this CD is meant to contain music from bands of ALL genres, as to further the album's reach. More of a reach (instead of just LP and hard rock) means more sales. More sales = more help.

I, personally, love Thrice. Good to see that they use them for their new CD :)

And to be quite honest, I feel like another LP related song would be rather disrespectful to the cause, seeing as they have a lot of involvement already.

    1. Just because you don't like those tracks it doesn't mean no one else will.

    2. Linkin Park aren't the only band in the world and if it was just music related to them there would probably be less people compelled to pledge money.

    3. No one's making you donate anyway. Take it or leave it.

Ok but when you have to pay ten dollars for the few tracks they have added, would you get it then?

They are adding tracks monthly, and they have 27 tracks on the site right now.

It's for a good cause. It shouldn't be about whether or not it has all Linkin Park or not. Linkin Park are giving you a choice (not a requirement) to donate and download this album if you see fit. Most charities don't offer music and just ask for your money. Music For Relief is asking for a donation and offering this album as a thank you for supporting a good cause. They didn't have to make this album at all, but they have. It's a great idea, and nobody's forcing you to download or donate to the cause. Bottom line.

I'm a fan of Glitch Mob and Switchfoot so shoot me.
I think Download to Donate V2.0 is looking good.
The only thing that's a shame is that Red Eyes by Switchfoot is on their album Hello Hurricane so it's really nothing new.

That too. Too much Linkin Park related music on there and it'd probably start to come off as a vehicle for them instead of an honest attempt at raising money for a charity.

And to sweeten the deal, they are adding tracks every month, without having to re-donate every time you want to download. So $10 for 27 + how ever many tracks they add a month is a great deal for getting music.

I never said it needed to be all LP or LP related. I said that they didn't add any new LP related music on it. I like AAR and Slash, which are included. But adding 12 songs from one band and two more from two other bands isn't exactly reaching out. Now the majority of it is Glitch Mob, which is not smart.

You seem to be forgetting that they are adding new tracks to the compilation every month. So just because they don't have any new LP related music now, doesn't mean they aren't adding anymore ever.

Actually, it's twelve songs from The Glitch Mob and NINE songs from other bands. Not two.
