Pretty sure there was a pro-shot of a concert somewhere, where Pushing Me Away was played live in it's album version in 2008.
The only Pro-Shot vid I can think of from 2008 was Road To Revolution, which had the piano version of the song.
I'm still baffled as to why they felt the need to start playing the piano version of this song nonstop. The studio version crushes it. If they wanted to slow the concert down, why not play My December? Like, an actual song that sounds good.
I love the original, but I think the piano version was better. Chester's voice sends shivers down my spine on that one.
What a deadbeat performance. Maybe the band prefers to play the piano version of the song. Seeing as how Mike is vocalizing during the climax of the song, my suspicions might be correct! The band did have someone vocalizing in the background of the studio version. Suh-weet.
I am going to be quite honest, I much prefer the piano version over the studio version live. It feels more personal and intimate.
Rock in rio 2008 has a pro shot of pushing me away album version. Audio isn't Hq in most videos. Look on YouTube.
To each their own. Me and my friend know this song pretty well since when it came out and liked it. Then in 2007, we heard the piano version(the one from Webster Hall) and we fell in love with it. Two years later, we randomly shuffled to the studio version and we rocked out to it. After the song was over. I turned and said to the friend, "the piano version's better" and the friend concurred. In as much as we love the studio version, compared to the piano version or at least the recording we have, it has a more emotional resonance and the different lyrical change combined with Chester's slower performance made it the superior pick. Would i like to here PMA in its original packaging? Yes. Would i be miffed if they rather played the piano version? Hell No! As for why they choose to do a piano version? Where to start. They either got bored playing it the regular way? Linkin Park is to piano versions as other bands are to acoustic versions? They know the song was made for the piano?.e.t.c.
