I wonder if the Points Of Authority Demo is the version that Brad made first. I remember Brad talking in a interview saying that he created a guitar part for Points Of Authority and then Mike stayed in the studio all night working on it, then Brad came the next day and it was so different that he had to relearn it?
Eh. Not strictly true... at least not of ATS for the most part in my opinion. I'll give you that for MTM though. And in any case, previous to that they were more or less at the point where their albums were like "Here's a rap with about 918283 different layers on the vocals for no reason. Here's a rock chorus with Chester singing/screaming over processed distorted power chords. Here's a bridge with more screaming and some scratching so you're aware there's a DJ in the band. Here's the chorus again. Rinse and repeat." There was at least as much of a formula and a "here's one style, here's another" mentality at that point to be honest.
I just figured out how to play the main part of Halo (2002). Problem is that i wont be able to upload the tutorial because the camera is currently unavailable. I'll upload it tomorrow otherwise you could check out the rest of my Linkin Park Piano Tutorials @ http://www.youtube.com/LPFreakification hope some things would help
Not really a big fan of LPUX. It's basically the same as LPU9, just a bit longer. It'd be cool if they could record vocals for the demos, but I understand them not wanting to given the fact that they want to move on and the costs associated with recording new vocals for all these tracks. I'm also a bit let down it's just kind of simple beats for the instrumentals -- for the most part, there's not really much build up like in, say, a Nine Inch Nails instrumental. It'd have been cool if there was more of an actual rock element to some of them, like A-Six. Edit: Also, I would love if they just made 5 additional tracks -- maybe one even being an instrumental -- whenever they make a new album, and just make those the next LPU CD. That would be amazing. Think something like Coldplay's "Prospekt's March", but for LPU.
Pale !!!! Pale !!! PALE !!!!!!!!!!!! Classic !!!!!!! I dunno what they were thinking ! leaving this amazing music!? :S
I agree with a lot people in this thread...Pale and Halo are fucking aweome! Some real good shit goin there, I cant believe some of these never made it on their albums!
One thing that surprised me that no one has pointed out. It was the one big thing everyone has been bitching and moaning about since LPU6. The CD case is no longer a slipcase. It is now a full CD case. As for people complaining about the demos, you asked for DEMOS. If you wanted finished tracks, you should have asked for B-Sides. Linkin Park don't have that many B-Sides anyway. They don't continue and finish a song when they know it won't fit in on the album. I personally am really looking forward to hearing LPUX. I am not downloading any leaks but I have heard I Have Not Begun on Mike's blog and that rap was dope. The track list is looking good.
