I play keyboard and some added percussion (toms) live and I do background vocals on the title track. We've only been a band for the last 2 months, it's me and my 5 best friends. We spent the first month practicing/writing these songs, then the last month recording. We always get asked immediately, "What do you guys sound like." We never have an answer, cause we can't compare our sound to anyone else. Let me know what you guys think, it's mean a lot.
Honestly, you guys are talented, a bit unpolished, an ultimately aren't doing anything that hasn't been done before. For the past 5-6 years I've heard bands a bit similar to yours. They haven't gone anywhere though. The only thing that makes you guys stand out are your vocalists, and that's not necessarily a good thing, but not entirely bad either. There's a familiarity in everything vocally, which could possibly gain you appeal, but it also give your band that "I've heard this for the past 8 years" feeling. The awesome part about this is that you guys just started. Experiment more. especially lyrically and vocally.
Thanks. We've already started writing some ideas for new songs and they're different than these ones. So we're just waiting to finish this ep and start playing shows and writing another ep soon most likely.
