Okay, I am a fan of Trivium's music. They can sure play their music but I am not a big fan of the screaming. Can anyone recommend the songs they have where their screaming is minimised? :p I do believe that the singer has a good singing voice. I know they also have instrumentals but I am not sure if they are worthy of my ears :D . Please give your opinion.

their most mellow song is Dying in Your Arms, off the Ascendancy album...although you don't really get non-screaming Trivium...

the intro of the ascendancy album is called "the end of everything" and is a very cool dark instrumental.
then, as mentioned above, "dying in your arms" from the same cd is a great way to explore the singing in trivium, i really like this song.

There aren't any good Trivium songs. They're all amazing.

I'd suggest just downloading their albums.

If you don't like screaming, then Trivium isn't the band for you.

Like others have said, there isn't really any song with just a little bit of screaming except Dying in Your Arms. Other from that I think there's only the intro tracks to both Ascendency and Ember to Inferno.

But yeah, if you can't handle screaming, then Trivium is probably too heavy for you.

    Amen.

The only songs i can think of are 'Dying in you arms' 'The end of everything' and (another instrumental) 'A veiw of burning empires'/'Inception The Bleeding Skies' (or something.) they are both basicly the same, except i think one is the other backwards.

What he said. Actually...buy them instead, one of the reasons to buy a CD.

What I could never figure out is why play.com were advertising 'Ember To Inferno' as a June 2005 release

Ever since I heard 'Like Light To The Flies' on scuzz back in January I've loved Trivium. There isn't a single bad song on Ascendancy however they could have released 'Dying In Your Arms' or 'Departure' as a single/video instead of 'A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation'

What I find increadible is that Matt Heafy is only 19! I know people who'd kill to be able to play guitar like that at just 19

Avenged Sevenfold's guitarists are barely, like, twenty or twenty-one.

True but IMO Matt Heafy is a better guitarist; much better solos and rythem in Trivium's guitaring.

    It's funny...his birthday is 3 days after mine :D.

If he keeps it up, in about 5-10 years...he'll kill the metal scene.

I wouldn't call it screaming, more shouting and grunting.

Am I the only person who hears similarity between Matt Heafy's voice and James Hetfield's? :wth:

Ordinarilly I wouldn't be a fan of screaming metal such as trivium, but after hearing Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr, it's growing on me. I also love Dying in your Arms and Ascendancy. I like the mix of screaming/singing, and then there's also the excellent guitar work.

Thank you all very much for your input :) I'm getting the songs suggested now. I do have another question now. What in your opinion is their best song?
