I like it, and I really like blasting some "current" EDM from time to time. Sure Recharged is not the finest EDM work out there, but I'd not say it's terrible by any means. Honestly, it's quite decent. Yeah, lovin' that remix One of my favorites from that short "EDM-LP" era ahah Edit: wait, nope... I though you were posting the Vicetone remix. This one is okay-ish.
Different people like different dance music sub-genres and artists. I really enjoy ultramodern bass-heavy Moombahton, fidget house and trap, among others, and I've previously enjoyed tracks by Dirtyphonics, DatsiK and Schoolboy. So, just as a fan of the aforementioned sub-genres and artists, I think that the dance production throughout "Recharged" is great. The drop in "A Light That Never Comes" might be one of my favourite Moombahton drops ever. Looking at the remixes as reworkings of Linkin Park songs, though ... there is a lot for me to not like. For instance, I don't feel that "I'll Be Gone" works as a trap/hip-hop track or as a fidget house tune. These are just personal gripes but I place them above my appreciation for the production.
The biggest problem with Recharged is the amount of old remixes on it. There should have been more content created specifically for the album.
I don't really take this album very seriously. I listened to it once just because it had the LP name on it but I don't even consider this as an LP album. I'm not a fan of the EDM stuff but I'd say there are 2 or 3 tracks I could listen to again. I'm not a fan of Reanimation either but it destroys Recharged anytime.
I agree! Reanimation & Recharged are both very good remix albums. I think Recharged is almost like an improvement, too. I guess if some people are not into the EDM scene, they wouldn't have have liked Recharged. I loved it.
After the 1. listen, i was a little shocked to be honest, so i didn't hear it again for couple weeks or months. After that time i was listening to it again spontaneous and i found it better, maybe because i knew what to expect. There are really fine moments, which i enjoy. Personally i find the remixes of "I'll Be Gone (Vice Remix, feat. Pusha T) and "Lies Greed Misery (Dirtyphonics Remix) better than the original ones. "Recharged" has more rough edges than Living Things to me.
I agree. I liked some remixes and I loved to hear new rap verses from Mike and other guests. But overall - Underwhelming, even more than LT was.
Personally, I kind of don't understand the hate for it because while not Linkin Park main studio album quality, it was what I expected so I can't say it was terrible. Would have liked more unique remixes but oh well. I am in the group that didn't really take the album seriously so it did not really bother me.
I listened to the whole album once. While I liked certain songs, namely Mike's remixes, I just couldn't get into it. I've just never been greatly interested in EDM, Dubstep, or any other dance-oriented genres.
It mirrors Reanimation in many ways but it's just not good. How does it mirror? A lot of songs have guest features, new verses by Mike, and just an overall updated feel on the original. 90% of the album is absymal so it would get a 1/10 for me, making Meteora better than it in my eyes now that I relistened
Initially, I was disappointed, but it grew on me when I realized it fulfilled my dream of LP doing a full-on EDM album. Also, I like it better than Reliving Things. Sorry guys.
