Does anyone know what kind of distortion Brad uses? I've been browsing around and can't find anything, please help.

Brad's always used the gain channel on his amp heads for distortion because it sounds more natural than anything you can get out of a pedal. In the early days he just used a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier head, later on (probably late 2003-ish) he started using a combination of the Mesa Boogie head and a Marshall 1959SLP reissue with master volume and gain modifications. Ever since Minutes to Midnight came out though, he's been using Randall amplifiers, I have no clue what head he uses now but his cabs are Randall 4x12s and he mentioned in an inteview that he's using a Randall tube emulator to kind of mimic the sounds of all the different amps he used in the recording of MTM.

Ooh, I have an interesting interview with Brad all about his guitars and amps.
Can't remember which site it's from though.

    I'll get back to you

Yeah I just read it this morning. It's an interview in Guitar World magazine.
