Mike's 'Instrumental' Makes the Cut

According to a new tip-off, Mike's collaborative effort with up-and-coming MC Lupe Fiasco will appear on the artist's debut album, Food and Liquor, which hits shelves September 19th in the US. The song, titled Instrumental, was originally leaked onto the internet months ago, with no confirmation of any intent to press the track onto the disc. The album also features appearances from Jay-Z and Jill Scott.

No, Mike is NOT on the CD. He only produced the song...he's not featured on it.

'Instrumental' and 'Never Lies' are different songs though. take my word for it.

 

The Intrumental and Never Lies are the same song. I have the album already and even his myspace has it confirmed.

 

You're wrong. "Never Lies" and "The Instrumental" are the same song.

 

on Lupes myspaces aaaaaaaaaaages (we're talking up to a year ago) their was a song called the instrumental, it was completely different to the song we know as 'Never Lies' as far as im aware these songs have nothing to do with eachother.

Instrumental - reffers to somebody called mike and talks about someone called 'Shinobi' and gives shout outs to a lot of people at the end. this track doesnt have a chorus either

Never Lies - does have a chours. doesnt mention someboby called mike. from what i've heard 'never lies' doesnt have a shout out part to it. plus the fact the beats are completely different!

i've been a fan of Lupe's for some time now and i can assure you these are two different tracks... but however it looks to me that Lupes named the song 'Never Lies' as 'Instrumental'

 

I freaking love this song and also daydreamin from this album. If anything on the new LP album sounds like "The Instrumental" I'll be a happy chappy.

Yeah, Lupe had an older song that was also called Instrumental, it was on one of his mixtapes. Never Lies was renamed to "The Instrumental" for the album though, so THIS "Instrumental" is the same as Never Lies (with some different mixing), the other one is just an unrelated track that happened to have the same name.

yep, the post should say "The Instrumental" instead of "Instrumental". They are the same song, but "Never Lies" is considered a demo to "The Instrumental". "The Instrumental" has slightly different mixing for the final album release

So, finally. Can anyone tell us all is there a Mike on The Instrumental, or he just produced the track?

Even more - is Mike on any of the other tracks on the CD or he just produced the album or whatever...????
