It's going to be ok. Don't pop a blood vessel.

I dont see how bandmates doing solos is a bad thing...this will more than likely improve their writing because they're working on their own rather than together...we will finally get to see how good each of them is on their own. I cant wait for either, if either are happening.

Wah, It's not like it's going to break Linkin Park or anything. he needs room to stretch his hip-hop roots.

Damn, him and the Roots, that'd be a dream come true.

Would Mike tour solo for this album or would he just do some songs during the LP set?

have you thought about mike wants?

Maybe its a dream come true for him to be working on a solo album as a produce/rapper

And lets face it, he cant show he true talents as an MC with linkin park, he even admitted it.

Why do fans think that solo albums break up bands? It's ridiculous and unfounded paranoia.

    I agree.

I would pick Mike going solo over Linkin Park anyday.

Oh... get Danger Mouse on this, maybe some Mos Def or Kweli and you'd have everyone's attention.

Mike Shinoda ain't nothing to f' wit!

Those who get that allusion deserve a round of applause.

If he can get 9th Wonder or Madlib to contribute in any way, shape or form, I'm all for it.

If he can't...I'm all for it.

most LP fans know that when LP come to record things they go away, by themselves, and think up parts which they think are good - mike is simply taking this a step futher and doing his own thing, and putting it on a record. that is if you believe the rumors floating about, mtv dont often get their facts mixed up though...

sounds to me like a fantastic idea!

about artists that could be on his record.. besides the ones that have been mentioned hes already working with for the new project (black thought, ?uestlove, ice cube, common.. etc..). some other artist i think he should get on their besides a few off reanimation like chali 2na are guys hes liked his whole life that he grew up listening to like nas, rakim, and chuck d cuz that would be amazing to get those names on that album.. but i see him only putting the "underground" (aka non-mainstream) rappers on there.. which is still awesome because he did that dam well on reanimation..

Hell yah that would be wicked Mos Def and Kweli, I can totally see him doing a track with Jay-Z and Kanye too, now that would blow my mind. Especially if he let Kanye produce it, can you say straight to number 1?

I just pray to god that if it has great lyrics and production quality, that it will carry over to the next album.....I would be very dissapointed if it didnt. To tell you the truth....Mike releasing a solo album is less threatening to the band then Chester coming out with one. Reason one.....Mike knows his roots and would never leave the band hanging. Chester I'm sure is a good guy at heart....but he is the most disconnected member of the band. Because Chester is pretty much the one that got LP famous, he could have a permenant solo career if he wanted to while Mike, on the other hand is probabaly just doing it for fun. Also If Mike and Chester did both release solo projects.....I think it would be a good idea to release them together to keep the albums from competing with eachother.

I personally wouldn't care as long as there is something from someone from Linkin Park. As a group or otherwise, but what LP should do instead letting Chester have solo stuff on LP (like Breaking The Habit, and Numb.) Give Mike his own solo tracks like they did on the EP, with Step Up. Chester does have guitar skills so let him show it. Give Mike his solo tracks on LP CDs, and everything would be fine. Mike could do whatever he wants on his own track and it would fit.
