Go ahead and let it out! Did you hate their lyrics? Do you hate those raps, or maybe you hate all the Chester songs? I mean for me, I came to the realization last night that by coincidence or not, I have hated almost every single album ender: Pushing Me Away (yet I love P5hng me A*wy), Numb, The Little Things, The Messenger, and Powerless are some of my least favorite LP songs. I guess they just can't end an album well (although I love KRWLING). What gets your LP goat?
The only thing that gets my LP goat is seeing all the news of them touring here and touring there. I want them here where I live! It's been 8 years since they last came here.............THEY OWE US TOO!! That and scratching a cd from time to time. I get mad at myself cause I get mad at them and then boom one of my fav lp songs comes on and I'm not mad at them anymore.
They are generally WAY to short. I would of love to seen a longer Living Things; particularly longer versions of Powerless and Castle of Glass.
That one song on each album that sticks out as a sore thumb as easily being the worst song on the album. I like most LP songs (all but 2) but on each album there is a song that sticks out to me as easily the worst, with HT and MTM song not sticking out as much as all the other albums. (By Myself, Hit the Floor, Robot Boy, Until It Breaks). With MTM it used to be TLGYA but I like it a lot more now
Mike's inconsistency as a rapper. He only seems to be on point every other album and his best performances for Linkin Park were on Minutes to Midnight. Two goddamn songs. There's also the production that tends to render the music sterile and walled off. A Thousand Suns was the only one that came close to enveloping you with sound.
I'm sitting here and I can't think of anything that applies to all of the albums. The songs from the first two albums + LT are a bit on the short side, but that's a really minor complaint and it doesn't spoil anything. A bunch of the more recent songs often use this one kind of electric guitar tone I don't find appealing.
What I don't like about LP albums: + HT: the lyrics + Reanimation: the interludes + Meteora: the lyrics + MTM: Too much Chester + ATS: The interludes + LT: I'll Be Gone
Short rap verses. Why can't the rap verses be longer, like on Wretches And Kings or When They Come For Me?
What I don't like: - HT: lyrics of Runaway and OSC - Reanimation: - - Meteora: Everything - MTM: No Roads Left, Across The Line and Blackbirds is not on the album - ATS: - - LT: Lost In The Echo, I'll Be Gone, Short songs
What I don't like about LP albums: + HT: The Numetal fans and the young fans that can't appreciate this album for the masterpiece it is. + Reanimation: The ignorance of Numetal fans + Meteora: More Numetal fans + MTM: The Numetal fans that left the band and the new fans that have expectations way too high for the band. + ATS: The Numetal fans that abandonned the band and their alienation of the fans of the album. + LT: The Numetal fans that still complain that this wasn't another Hybrid Theory. Also, the new fans unreasonable expectations for the band.
What I don't like: HT: - Reanimation: - Meteora: lyrics, predictable structures MTM: HHH (!!!), absence of Mike's rapping ATS: absence of riffage LT: lack of inovation and riffage
Hybrid Theory; too short. Reanimation; ntr/mission is too short, the remixes are a little hit and miss sometimes. Meteora; also too short, Easier to Run. Minutes to Midnight; the little things give you away, and there's not enough Mike on this album. A Thousand Suns; Robot Boy, I just don't like this song at all, and I don't really like Fallout either. Living Things; The album is too short. Powerless, I was hoping for a more energetic last song. Tinfoil, one of my least favorite instrumentals, and Mike Shinoda's rap in Lost in the Echo, especially the first verse, doesn't really fit with the music imo.
I like everything about Hybrid Theory, except maybe the lyrics in Runaway. And maybe. Because I remember I could connect so well with them when I was 5/6 years younger. Meteora: I don't like the ridiculous amount of hate this album is getting here Seriously, the lyrics of some songs are the only thing that bothers me about Meteora MTM: the U2-style song (Shadow..), the classic pop rock song (LOATR) ATS: some interludes (Fallout, The Radiance), the classic acoustic song ( The Messenger), the U2-style song (Iridescent) LT: the super-polished production, the lack of original guitar riffs I'd like to add I love U2. I simply think U2 is 1000000X better at writing that style of music than LP is. Shadow Of The Day and Iridescent really sound like unoriginal U2 songs to me.
Hybrid Theory - 37:45 in length. Are you fucking kidding me? and I don't mind experimentation, but Cure For the Itch was a disaster. Meteora - 36:35 in length. Seriously guys, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Minutes To Midnight - Everything about the second side. The bridge of Given Up really wasn't necessary. Bleed It Out's chorus is too simplistic. What I've Done sounds much the same as any other typical song at the time, very unoriginal. AND NOT ENOUGH MIKE A Thousand Suns - Nothing. this album is perfect. Living Things - 36:59 in length. Okay no comment. Other than that, this album is perfect too.
Well if everyone's doing it like that and not the way the thread was intended (I think), i'll do it too. HT: People who overrate this album and say it's their best Meteora: Hit the Floor MTM: Not including QWERTY, ATL, Blackbirds, and WWDK in the tracklist ATS: Interludes and Robot Boy LT: Mike's raps in UIB
Well yeah, it doesn't *have* to be every album; like I said, the only exception to the complaint I had was Reanimation.
