That's what I was saying!! They're NBA pros, of course you can't expect them to get used to the shorter distance.
Eventually the USA basketball teams streak was going to end, sadly they got crushed, but i still have faith in them. they have talent they just need to learn how to use it together.
The opening ceremony was just fantastic. I loved the fact they featured almost every Greek god ever - I'm into Greek Myths so yeah. I'll admit, it did drag on a bit, and that "pregnant" woman with the lightbulb as a bump scared the bloody hell out of me, but yeah, it was very well done. It was great to see each country too - even the one's who's names I can't pronounce. The Judo was just inspiring. I loved watching it - I was literally yelling each and every technique that anyone used. Being a former fighter myself, I can get pretty passionate sometimes. Frederique [something] (FRA) against [a Japanese woman who's name I've forgotton] for the gold medal was amazingly fast paced and has really got me wanting to fight again. When I was younger I used to think about being on the olympic team but that's in the past now - I'm too old to join now I think Back on topic: I've actually been really impressed with the French performance so far this year. A gold in Fencing and I think something else as well, a silver in Judo and a Bronze is something else. Allez la France
They beat the US! but the US beat our women.
They beat women? Well, they gotta pay for being so violent :chemist: .
They beat women? Well, they gotta pay for being so violent :chemist: .
I know! Phelps lost to Thorpe. American newscasters oversensationalizing his attempt for 8 gold medals ar egoing to be crushed.
I know! That's what makes me so angry because now, no matter how many golds or how many medals he gets, it'll be viewed as a failure for him. He could win six golds and two bronze, thus equaling the most number of medals ever won at a single Olympics, and the media would still label him as a "failure".
I updated my original psot with day three stats. I have the total medal count (in cases of ties, gold breaks it), and the gold medal count.
Meh, It's only been swimming, gymnastics, and cycling. I sense good things in tomorrow's rowing. And Nestor/Niemayer should do us fine in tennis. We'll have seven medals by Friday. that's a bold statement. but that's my guess.
