Actually, in the first year of XBOX's release, PS2 still held a vast majority of the market share in the video gaming industry. The PS2 has been the star of the industry ever since it's release, until very recently when less games were being made and move emphasis was being put on the PS3, while XBOX put out Halo 2.
One thing I hate is the cheap shotting Sony is doing in calling Xbox, "XBOX 1.5". This isn't a Presidential race, ya dig?
Yea but Gates is an idiot for saying Halo 3 is going to disrupt PS3 sales. Implying that a game is better than a system. But hey its business, they gotta take cheap shots at eachother.
I think the controller is...different, but it goes well with the system itself and I am sure Sony knows that the previous controllers were perfectly fitted so this should be also.
The Sony press conference was really impressive. I like how they showed that the new Unreal Engine Demo was not rendered, but in realtime. Also, the return of the Duck demo was nice too.
If you haven't seen them already, take a look at these "Getaway 3" screens for the PS3. Screen One. Screen Two. Screen Three. The graphics look absolutely amazing, too bad the gameplay has never matched the graphics in the previous efforts.
Not that I care anyways. I mean, Liberty City Stories isn't even being devolped by Rockstar North. EDIT: Those Getaway 3 screens look amazing. But then again, gameplay matters too.
I think the real question is whether or not that's in game, or a cut scene. If it's a cut scene... nothing I can't see on my PC. If it's in-game gameplay... wow.
#1 decent thing about this I can imagine: you can use the PS2 controller on the PS3 (my PSX one worked on my PS2).
Well, considering the PS3 controllers are likely wireless and I don't see any plugs, I don't think that'll happen. Although I wish it did.
Link Not sure if you've seen this, but a little more info on the upcoming MGS4 title. I'm so happy it's not a prequel, and it should be interesting to see how Kojima manages now he's involved in a lot more than direction. Also, Meryl? Should be a interesting game, and hopefully it will be a huge leap forward like MGS2 was to MGS.
Metal Gear is to Sony as what Mario is to Nintendo. In other words, stop with all the goddamn Metal Gear Solid games! :'(
