LT is such a fun album. honestly, there are songs on it, where i just can't sit still. even today im still enjoying it and i listen to it much more than any of their previous stuff. without a doubt their older songs are awesome, i love TFSOP but somehow im not into it anymore, at least the last couple of months. whatever appeared on youtube from their new album was amazing. there was not a single song i disliked and considering they took a good bunch of their songs from the first session with them im really looking forward to it .
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You based your opinion on an entire album on one song, which actually happens to be the poppiest one on the album? No offense, but that's just stupid.
here's some kind of proof for what i meant earlier: "You are involved in quite a few projects right now – some winding down, some just ramping up. Can you talk about those? I am indeed involved in a few projects at the moment. Although I just finished recording the tracks for the next lostprophets album, I'll be the new NIN drummer starting officially in January, I have a solo project where I write and record everything called The New Regime, and I play drums in a band called ...Students." the interview is from 12/16/08
Pfft, I've heard other songs since then including the apparently most aggressive song (Everyday Combat) and it just sounds like crap from a band that would be standing on rooftops screaming their hearts out. Generic pop rock crap.
Meh, if it did come out this year that'd be 3 years since LT. Which was the same time between FSoP and SS. Plus, since when has lots of time/re-writes meant bad albums? Ok, Chinese Democracy, but NIN? The Fragile took 5 years to make, and is a masterpiece IMO. Anyways, I'm really looking forward to it, I love Lostprophets, and regardless of what my current taste in music is, they'll always hold a special place for me musically. LT wasn't as good as the first two albums, but had some good moments, and to be honest, if this album really blows I'll just stick to listening to the first two albums.
but then the interview date should've been 07 instead of 08. because of he just finished recording drums refering to the first session, it should be back in 07.
Since when was Everyday Combat their most agressive song? We Are Godzilla You Are Japan and Start Something come to mind...Weapon anyone? As I've said before, I really enjoy Liberation Transmission and there's not a single track on the album that I don't enjoy...it's just that the style is far too different than Start Something and fakesoundofprogress. There's just no raw energy and spark in Liberation Transmission that songs from the previous two albums had. One thing I will say though is that the video for Rooftops is dreadful lol.
Ilan will be done with Nine Inch Nails by the summer, so I expect him to either go back to being with the Lostprophets or continue on with the New Regime (badass).
Aren't Yellowcard just on hiatus? Then again, for most bands these days a hiatus is pretty much synonymous with actually breaking up anyway. They were one of my favourite bands back when they released Ocean Avenue, but then I listened to their next album and thought it was pretty dire and lost interest in them for a while. Their last one wasn't bad though. More relevant to this thread, according to Yellowcard's Wikipedia page (it's unsourced as well, so make of it what you will) Stu from Lostprophets has said that Longineu isn't actually joining them. Shame, if that is the case. He is a pretty good drummer and it's hard to imagine another established musician joining them. Maybe they'll finally get their wish of having Travis Barker drum for them, haha.
