Does anyone like them? I think only Radical Dreamer and/or Odaton have mentioned them here before. Yeah, so just like, talk about their songs & ####. suuuuch a basic topic.
I do! I do! Odaton and I have discussed Tool before a long time ago, but I love Tool! I got into them when Lateralus came out, and I've not heard all of their older material, but they rawk !
They are really awesome. Lateralus is one of my favourite albums of all-time! My favourite song of theirs has to be either Third Eye of Lateralus. Their songs are can be spacy and atmospheric but also very driving, head-bangin metal B) And Danny Carrey is one of the greatest drummers alive! How about some more discussioN!
What a great explanation of your ideas! I hope I could contribute to the boards as well as you can :chemist:
I love Tool, they are so original. Aenima is such a f**king amazing album...but I really love Lateralus and Undertow as well. It's really hard for me to pick favourite songs, because they're all so good.
Tool's pretty good, but I don't listen to them as much. My favorite songs are mostly from the Aenima album, which includes Forty-Six and 2, Stinkfist, Eulogy and the title track. I also like Sober, Prison Sex, Schism, Parabola, Lateralus and The Grudge. Up till this day, I'm still not sure how to pronounce Aenima.
Well it's goes like this. In the pronunciation of Aenima, the A is totally silent. So basically you just look at it like enima. Anyhow though i think it means having something shoved up your a$$ or something like that.

I knew that from blink's album Enema of the State. As for aenima, I've heard people call it on-ima and I've heard people call it ay-nima. Oh well, I'll stick with the enema pronounciation.
Okay that's why i wasn't sure if that is what it meant if it had a meaning. But i am almost positive though that you pernounce it the same. I think they were just being creative by spelling it Aenima but still pernouncing it enema. Cause i don't think then that Aeinma has a meaning then.
hey those are almost all the songs that i love by them too! wow i love how in Aenima it sounds like such a relaxing kind of thinking song but when you look at the lyrics you're like wow... they're so angry!
yeah, i think there's this cool line in it that goes "f*ck all those gun-toting hip gangster wannabes"...
Aenima, according to the album's booklet is a form of anaesthesia, like when they dope when they do operations. There is a difference in Aenima, you can swallow and cough, plus all these other medical doses and stuff. Thats what they talk about in the booklet anyways, all I know for sure is that they made the word up. This form of anaesthesia may be theoretical or something. Danny Carey especially is interested with all this kind of stuff. He's into the occult and stuff like that too. Here's my favourite little excerpt, even though I'm religous myself! 'Ritual Magik is a system of disciplines and exercises aimed at activating parts of the mind we might normally never use (about 85%). Through this system a better understanding of ourselves is attained. No true Ritual Magician has ever sacrificed a life, drank goat;s blood, or taken part in any other stupid urban legend ritual. This sort of behaviour is left to the psychotic, dogmatic, fundamentalist believers you see on your T.V. everyday letting off bombs and killing people in the name of God. Beliefs are dangerous. Beliefs allow the mind to stop functioning. A non-functioning mind is clinically dead. Believe in nothing...' You don't find stuff like that one every CD, thats why AENIMA is probably one of the greatest albums of all time because of its message that it sends across. Lateralus may be better musically IMO, but Aenima will last the test of time with these kind of statements.
I haven't heard a lot from Tool, because my radio stations suck, but I really like what I've heard. My favorite song by them is Schism. I also like Eulogy. I probably ought to download some stuff of theirs, just so I can get a really good feel for it.
