Sweet Serenity

This is my second story since I've started back up. This one has more of a story I guess.

The clouds rolled by as I lay in the grass. My head lay barron, but she still managed to consume me. Every piece of me was saturated in what was left of her. Everything seemed so surreal since I ran away. Left the only thing that mattered to me in utter ruins. As I watched the clouds float along it was like they were moving in slow motion. Or at a million miles an hour. It didn't really mean anything anymore. Time was just a figment at this point. I was just waiting for the universe to fucking implode. Maybe it had, It felt like it. She was everything to me. Its like she wasn't even real anymore. But in my head I knew it was the other way around. She became the physical reality and now here I lay in this. . . this sort of limbo. She tossed me away and here I am unable to move forward. Stuck in a moment, a memory. As I lay in the coarse grass it all started to dissolve. The sky appeared as sand being washed away. I could see stars appear behind it. I was being erased. I couldn't tell if it was her or me. The ground melted from beneath me. I started a violent fall into empty space. The stars began to blur, time to bend. I closed my eyes, shut them as hard as I could. It was a warm feeling that brought me to open my eyes again. I was floating in a cloud of color. A pinkish-red fog had enveloped me. I could feel her presence. I wanted to revel in it for the rest of eternity. But as soon as it came I could feel it all starting to fade. What was waiting for me I could not say. The color slowly dissipated. The millions of stars that surrounded me began to flicker away. At the speed of light at first, but it slowed as the numbers dwindled. Like little light bulbs, one by one by one. . . By one, until one remained. As much as I wanted it stay there was nothing I could do. I closed my eyes and felt the last bit of life fade away. I could only hope that when I opened my eyes there would be something for me. That I wouldn't be left here to slowly evanesce. That there was still a trace of her. I could feel myself begin to decay. Like a black hole pulling me away. I opened my eyes to find a light in the middle the vast hole. I found her. . . Serenity.
