I need help on how to seed with torrents, because I am using utorrent on a site that has very strict rules. If I dont seed, I will be banned from the site, and I dont seem to be seeding. My upload rate on every torret from that site is always 0, what am I doing wrong? I just tied it with Azureus and it dosnt upload anything with that either.
Download something from that site that's pretty popular, and leave it seeding. That should get your ratio off the ground a bit.
I take it you're talking about the pig? Firstly, uTorrent is the way to go, not the overbloated blue frog. Secondly, make sure you have ports open on your router, if you're using one. Thirdly, if there's a lot of seeders and not many downloaders on an torrent, you're going to need a lot of patience.

You got it lol, and im pretty sure im gonna get banned . I really liked that site, now I can only download torrents from my history, and none of them have any leechers, so im screwed, oh well, Ill reregister someday, I cant even make myself an invite .
Goddamnit, I had a whole post written up and I pressed back accidentally. *mutters* What you could try doing is grabbing torrents from other (public) sites and then seeding them on the private sites. Of course, this only works the torrents are exactly (or 99%, meaning missing a single txt file or whatever) the same. Check the hash id to figure this out. Since you're on Shaw, make sure your connection's encrypted, otherwise they're probably shaping you and you're out of luck. On top of that, apparently they made a deal with a company to allow them to read encrypted data (like Neil said), so you're double fucked [read: Shaw sucks]. As an uber last resort, if you know what you're doing, you could always try a VPN service like SecureIX. I haven't used it before for torrents, but I can verify I got it working, although, I don't have any use for it. What do you mean seed them on private site, do you mean like downloading it and then uploading it to the private site?
The demon and cat are both private sites. A public site would be something like the Pirate Bay. So what I'm suggesting is that you find alike torrents on a public site and your private site. Download from the public site, then after you finish, download the torrent from the private site but point it to the public download folder instead. Again, this only works if they're exactly the same torrents.
oh, I get it now, ok, I will try. I found a torrent, so i just download it, then go onto the private tracker, download that one, and it will already be 100% cuz i already go it, and seed it right? I dont think Im allowed to download any torrents from cats anymore, when I click on one it says my ratio is too low
You have to make sure they're the exact same files, otherwise it won't work. - download from public - finish downloading - compare to private torrent - if matches, download private torrent - set torrent to download to the folder where the public torrent downloaded; already complete - if it matches like it should, azeurus should check the files - if check succeeds, then you'll be seeding. sometimes you'll be missing 1mb or whatever.
Yeah, I know, its just that cats has banned me from downloading torrents until my ratio is at least 0.5, so for now I cant do that.
