Ok, I got about 57 bucks and Im thinking of going to Best Buy sometime to get new games for my PS2, but I dont know what to get. I'm into RPG's, really epic games like Final Fantasy or Drakengard, Im also into racing games like Midnight Club 2 or something. I just need some suggestions of games here.

I like FFX-2, or for racing, Need for Speed : Underground or the before-mentioned MC2. That's about it for me...

    RPG - Final Fantasy X-2
MMORPG - Final Fantasy XI (save $60 more and also you need a net adapter)
Racing - Need for Speed: Underground

Jak and Daxter and Jak 2 are good aswell...if you're going to buy Jak 2 buy Jak and Daxter first (thats the first one).

I know you might not like FPS games but TimeSplitters 2 is the best PS2 game I have ever played. It has single player, team play, vs play, arcade challenges (bot deathmatch with twists), story challenges... it goes on

There's so many things in that game! Every challenge has a special aspect added to the game JUST for that certain level. One level, you have to shoot giant ducks because your character was getting a hair transplant and the medication was a little too strong. Another mission is 'Behead the Undead", where you have a shotgun to take off the head of zombies that come near you... Another one, you have to hunt giant calamari and gingerbread men... It's not that violent really.. no blood or anything.

Very nice game. Very much worth it. I'm thinking of buying a PS2 JUST so I can get that game.....

So, goto EB games or WalMart or anywhere that sells games and say "Gimme Timesplitters 2!"

I'm with Linkin Junior, Beyond Good and Evil is probably the best game out on PS2 right now, and for $20 it's well worth a look.
For RPGs, I didn't like FFX-2, but I did like FFX, and Kingdom Hearts.
Racing, I recommend Need for Speed: Underground and once again Midnight Club II.

NFS is wicked but probably too short. You'll be thirsty for more when you're done. I camped at my friend's place for a day and we finished it after 25 hours :p

    Final Fantasy X

    Drakengard
    Myst III: Exile
    Final Fantasy X-2

NFS:UG is the worst game of the year. It's so... boring. We have some no name game from walmart called "Burnout" and it's better than that Need for Speed crap.

If you like Espionage (Metal Gear Solid) Splinter Cell : Pandora Tomorrow is for you

Sport then get NBA 2004, its awesome

Racing, Need For Speed : Underground is the king

but one game i think is awesome is Manhunt, i think its brilliant, bit gory though

if you wanna get a great cheapy, go for Silent Hill 2, its about 2 years old but Konami's graphics excel on this game, the story line is brilliant along with the music in the game, pure class one of the greatest games ever created

You said you liked RPG's. Here are my best recommendations for those:

    Xenosaga
    Suikoden III
    FF: X(and X-2)
Champions of Norrath (if you're online, otherwise don't)

    Racing:

Depends on your style. Do you like simulators or street racers? If you prefer simulators, Gran Tourismo 3 is a great way to start, and Gran Tourismo 4 is coming out this fall/winter. If you just want something unrealistic, but fun, go with NFS: UG or Midnight Club 2, both are very good, I'll give neither the advantage.

Well I went out and got NFS Underground and I love it. While out I bought Final Fantasy X-2 cause I found it pre-owned for like $24 and Im hooked on both of them. And Link04, I almost got Xenosaga but I wasnt sure cause I never heard anything about it, but Im gonna rent it and see how it is, then if I like it, I'll buy it. Looks really cool from the pictures Ive seen.

Xenosaga is awesomely deep, I love it. You'll put a lot of hours into that one.

If you want FPS I'd wait until Killzone's released -- that game looks amazing.

As far as RPG's go, just search GameRankings.com for RPGs on the PS2 for the best rated games :)

Killzone looks pretty good, but it's no "Halo beater" as they confidently stated IMO.

Even if it was a "Halo Killer", it's certainly not a "Halo 2 Killer" lol
