I'm getting a notebook for graduation. I need help picking one out. I have 3 choices right now, a Gateway, a Sony, or a Mac.

I want something that's going to be a reasonable price, but will be a great computer. Sony's are very nice, as are Macs. I know a lot of people don't much care for gateways, but i've never had a problem with them.

The gateway I found is great, it has everything i want as the basic spec's. The only thing I upgraded was the RAM. The Sony's are pretty good and are great machines, but on all of them you have to upgrade everything to get it to where I want it, and there for you have to pay more money.

Macs are awesome. I love mac computers, but for college a windows machine would be best.

I need to know by tomorrow, so please help.

Here is a link to the gateway computer i am looking at:

    http://www.sony.com

    http://www.apple.com

    Thanks

uhhhhhhhhhhhh.....no.......not going to an IBM...No, i picked the gateway. I want a mac more than anything, but a windows machine is best for college. I really wanted a sony but they are too expensive. the gateway i found is very nice and should be here in a couple of weeks.

    Where's Todd?

Get an Apple PowerBook or a iBook. Ask Todd which is better for school, I don't know much really.

I've got a 2 year old iBook. Works great for school and still runs Photoshop CS2, iTunes, iPhoto, GarageBand and a lot of other apps pretty damn well. For school, I would definitley recommend an iBook.

It depends. When it comes to art related stuff (seeing as I have no idea what type of school you're going to), Apple owns all. You have GarageBand and other cool apps, and everything is just so clean.

If anything, I'd get a Mac even if I weren't going in an art-related direction.

Careful though, if you aren't accustomed to a mac system, you might either want to reconsider or just buy it in advance to configure and get used to a mac OS instead of windows.
