Did anyone watch the TEN game? This rookie running back they got is going to be awesome. Someone from ESPN said he could score any time he touches the ball. Anyone with a fantasy league will want to pick him up!

It's generally not a good idea to start a back-up running back in a fantasy league, unless you like taking chances and gambling with your choices.

Anyways, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is out for the season.

He will be starting by the half-way point of the season, if not sooner - mark my words. Not that it matters, because there are teams out there that use two backs all game...

And, as previously reported like three times, yeah Brady's out - but NE will be fine, that backup is pretty solid.

I agree with you, but in most fantasy leagues, you're going to want to go with a guy a team will use in goal-line situations and things like that; i.e. someone who'll score more than once or twice a game, preferably more than once or twice every six or seven games. But you're right, he'll be starting before long.

At any rate, Matt Cassel is completely unproven. It's a wonder the Pats even drafted him, considering Cassel played behind both Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart at USC. The Pats had better either look to trade for a proven back-up quarterback (someone like Brad Johnson from Dallas), or their season is going to be an utter joke. Hell, maybe they can snatch up Daunte Culpepper before the league finalizes his retirement papers.

I think the Patriots should take a stab at a better QB, maybe go after Culpepper. I personally predicted a 14-2 season for the Patriots, but now that Brady is out I don't see them being better then .500.

If the Patriots can get an experienced quarterback under center (i.e. not Chris Simms), they'll be OK, but they won't make the playoffs.

Well it's Cassel's first start for the Pats, let's hope he can perform well, it sure is going to be a different season without Brady and I've most likely lost most of my bets with my friends. >_<

    Optimistic:
    17 - 14 to pats

    Realistic:
    21 - 10 to Jets.

The Lions better show up today. I have a feeling they are going to get their asses handed to them - worse than last week, and then I might cry. lol.

If Cleveland's opening game against Dallas didn't set the tone for the season, their game tonight against Pittsburgh will. If the Browns can't win, they need to at least hang with the Steelers to have some hope this season.

I've got a bad feeling the Browns' horrifically tough schedule and the five primetime games are going to derail the team and send them back into rebuilding mode for the next five years.

I mean, Jackson's touchdown run to seal the game was OK, because it would've, essentially, prevented the Lions from winning, but the two interception returns for touchdowns were overkill.

Did anyone happen to catch the Eagles game today? I heard something happened to McNabb and he had to leave the field but he eventually came back out to finish the game. I wasn't watching it because I was watching the Phillies. Can someone tell me what happened with McNabb?

"One play before Westbrook left, McNabb was visibly shaken up after getting sacked. He played the rest of the half and took a hard hit to the chest late in the second quarter. McNabb stayed in the locker room after the half, but returned during Philadelphia's second series in the third quarter."

Millen was finally fired. Thank the football gods. Step 1 has been complete. There are only about 24 other steps to be taken now.
