I think we should add necroposting to the rules and/or guide. Included in this should be what the minimum time (eg. a month) is for necroposting and the definition. This would be useful especially for newer members so they wouldn't have to learn the hard way of doing it and possibly getting warned. Just a suggestion.
As far as I'm concerned, it should be either when a topic goes off the first page, or when it's over a month old. If I'm not mistaken, you can bring back an old thread if you have something legitamate to add to it though, right? Who came up with the word "necroposting" anyway? I've never seen it on any other forums anywhere, and I find the term to be amusing.
is it just me, or is it a trend these days? It almost seems like some people are doing it all the time.
If a thread is dead for a month, and someone posts in it Just a question about it, whats so bad about necroposting? If you make a new thread, it will be closed because you must use the search button, and when you found it you cant post it because its going to be considered as necroposting *breathes*
Necroposting I think actually is considered bad if it's pointless. Let's say you post a long, good post in an old thread, I don't think it gets closed, but if you add a "Yeah I think that, too" then that's a pointless necropost.
when a topic is kinda old , it has been discussed a few times , and you wanna react on it , Then it's necroposting and it gets closed , and when you start a new topic (about the same subject) it get's closed becuz it have been discussed , what can you do?
first you should search to make sure all threads relating to yours are closed or deleted. If you can't find any...post it with saying in the post that you searched for threads like this and couldn't find any. If yours gets closed, you should PM an administrator. Edit: Holy crap so many people necropost these days.
