I think you're overgeneralizing the term "metal". They've never sounded metal.

I've always been kind of bored with Korn.
They're just one "new metal" band that I never cared for. Like Papa Roach. Or Limp Bizkit.

I saw them when they played Metallica's One at the MTV Tribute to Metallica, and I thought that was pretty good, however.

KoRn has always been "nu-metal", although now they've seemed to just pick up the pace more, in my opinion. They're less dark, if that's the way to say it. It seemed like before you'd listen to a KoRn song and it'd be somewhat hard, someone slow, and very bassy. Now it seems like they're doing alot more with effects and things. Jon's voice on the new album seems almost like they've done stuff to it. It sounds artificial to me at times, like Marilyn Manson's newest stuff.

I hate the direction they've gone in, especially after Issues. They haven't gotten any better or any more creative.

That's nothing major. I think he means their sound as a whole, instead of one instrument.

I thought they're latest album was a very new sound. You can still definitely tell it's Korn, but it's alot poppier, and I like that. Very catchy stuff.

Yeah, I was just using it as an example. If you listen to See You on the Other Side and then listen to one of their older CDs, you're going to notice a huge difference. One reason being, Experimentation with sounds and the use of electronics. The new CD may seem "poppier" or less creative but to me, it actually seems heavier than their previous CDs except for a couple of tracks. It was a definite step outside of the box for them though.

yes, they have changed their sound, but the musicality has never gotten beyond what they were before. if it's not a radio-friendly song, it's just a song that's "nothing special" or "horrible". i can't get into the new stuff, maybe i would've been able to if i was in jr. high like when their old stuff came out, but i think i see their music for what it really is now.

well i don't think Korn has it in them to take metal ahead. The future of metal lies in the hands of SOAD imo. They make unconventional songs and yet they are popular.Besides they are not a band which likes to make anger toned songs all the time.I'm getting bored of every band which comes up with an album which starts and ends with "I hate you"
